Agreed. I'm currently in my third year at university in a poli-sci and history program, and am experiencing massive disappointment with all my professors and TAs. The whole school is hard-Left and everyone recognizes that. My first poli-sci TA in my first year was a member of the Communist Party of Canada (needless to say our debates were fiery and impassioned).
Don't go into school with the belief that, "To know all sides is better." Bluntly, it is not. To know the wrong side is in no way beneficial. Besides, you already have been exposed to that side your entire life just by breathing the air of our society.
If you have a clear view of what you want to do in life once you're finished university, I would suggest you skip the whole ordeal and get something of value like work experience or an apprenticeship under your belt. Or take the time to travel, or write, or just do anything other than sit and pay Liberals and Socialists to tell you why you don't really exist as an individual and why it is your fault an African is starving.
All that said, Stanford has the Hoover Institution and there's always the University of Chicago. Aim high, you never know what you can achieve until you give it a shot.
