"Think Small"

http://www.smh.com.au/opinion/politics/think-small--and-other-capital-ideas-2010...

Here's an article about moving the level of government as locally as possible. (As you do this you become more libertarian.)

I'm a software engineering student in university and have been programming as a hobby since high school. When coding you try to write as little as possible and avoid repetition, because the more code there is the more bugs there will be. I think that's why I'm a libertarian now.

Small works. Smiley

Yes... i like the idea of Thomas Jefferson's Ward Republics, in a nutshell meaning  that citizens are highly involved at the local level.

Your coding analogy doesnt work. Youre analogy would mean give more power to the fed to get rid of repetitive laws.

But anyways. I strongly agree with more power at the local level. Its one of the only ways out of this mess. Ill have to study up on jeffersons Ward Republics.

A good read about Jefferson's ward republics is called "Restoration of the Republic" by Gary Hart [I assume not the Monkey Business version].

How about just not having those laws to begin with? Smiley e.g trade restrictions, farmer subsidies, etc....

That will not happen as long as we have progressives slowly advancing government towards socialism.

Is anyone here part of the tenther movement. If more power to the states and less to the fed is something youre interested in, they give a lot of good news about how how the fed is trashing the 10th amendment, and how states are standing up to the government. Im only a fan on facebook, so Im not exactly a hard core member that keeps up with everything they say. But I hear a lot of good stuff from them.
