The admin needs to make a Favicon (the icon that shows in your bookmarks).

If he wants, I can make one for free. Smiley

I used to do a Yabb forum as a family forum about three years ago.  Yabb has some cool Open Source mods that are available at: http://www.boardmod.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl

Templates would be fun:  http://www.boardmod.org/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=templates

Of course doctoring up the forum to look cool requires quite the time investment, and at least a basic knowledge of Perl.  I wouldn't want to do something like that again.  Don't have near as much time on my hands as I used to.

Good idea, but what I think we need now is:

1)Avatars

2)New theme

3)Favicon

What do you think?

I actually have extensively used Simple Machines Forum, which is based on YaBB 2. When I used SMF, adding a skin to the forum really wasn't all that difficult. Customizing to get it to look how you want required some CSS meddling and possibly some PHP manipulation, but didn't require a whole lot of work overall. I'm not sure if the same is true of YaBB, though.

As for a favicon: An addon doesn't need to be installed to display a favicon. Just make a .ico file, name it favicon.ico and place it in your root directory Smiley

I think those are good ideas. Avatars don't take up that much bandwidth and allow a good degree of user customization, the forum's theme could have a few simple color changes to give it a more unique look, and a favicon would be a compact and recognizable symbol that would characterize the website.
