It's much easier for blacks to rise out of their poverty if they don't have a massive chip on their shoulder.  To advance in most careers, blacks will have to deal with white people, and, "reverse racism" will do them no good.  And when these people fail, they often blame racism instead of seeing the problems with themselves.  I have a black coworker at the assisted living facility I work at.  She thinks the residents don't like her because they're racist.  I guess it has nothing to do with the fact that she's mean and obnoxious to them.

If it was simple racism, then Asians would be poor as well.

The problem are:

1.  Politicians have convinced people that someone else is responsible for their situation.
2.  Educators have convinced people that someone else is responsible for their situation.
3.  The media has convinced people that someone else is responsible for their situation.
4.  Some people believe it.  Race really doesn't matter, there are more poor Whites than poor Blacks.  And, there are some poor Asians....

The big question is why some people don't believe it.

Someone has cut through the bulls#!t that kids are being told and convinced a kid that they are responsible for the choices they make.
