BTW It was humorous on Bill Maher last night because he proposed that Putin would be the perfect Republican Presidential Candidate for 2016.

Of course there is the minor problem of Putin not being a natural born US citizen because he wasn't born in the United States but Republicans don't seem to have a problem with that Constitutional requirement because John McCain was born in Panama and Ted Cruz was born in Canada so neither met the 14th Amendment's requirements for "natural born citizenship" as Americans. Both McCain and Cruz are US citizens based upon the statutory naturalization laws passed by Congress.

Mitt Romney and Bain Capital would also fall into this category. Remember that Bain Capital never invested even one dime of it's own money into any of the enterprises it took control over. It purchased stocks from other private stockholders and then either sold off the assets of the enterprise, outsourced the work to foreign countries, borrowed against the assets of  the enterprise to increase the stock value, or a combination of the above, and then took it's profits and ran. In many cases Bain Capital only put up a small percentage of the "buy-out" capital borrowing against the assets of the enterprise to fund the buy-out so it could profit even more.

We can also note that Mitt Romney had a much lower tax burden relative to income than over 90% of Americans and it was substantially lower than every middle income American in the United States. In 2011 Romney only had a 14% federal tax burden and I personally had a 28% federal tax burden (because I paid income taxes as well as Self-Employment taxes to the federal government) and I had far less than 1/200th of Romney's income.

Mitt Romney was one of the greatest parasites in America and certainly surpassed anything that Al Gore has ever accomplished in this regard.

Businesses like Bain Capital are a legitimate part of free markets, but then, you don't like free markets do you?

As far as taxes payed or avoided, remember that our current system of taxation was created, modified and sustained by 'progressives', and that avoidance of taxes not legally owed is everyone's right. It's just another instance of government usurping power not granted to it by the people. We did grant broad and inclusive taxing powers in the Constitution, but we also limited them severely. Direct taxes must be apportioned and Indirect taxes must be uniform.

Many of our early Presidents, including George Washington, were born subjects of the British Crown, also making them ineligible under the 14th Amendment.
