That is interesting, thanks

Politico (def not my favorite rag) makes some interesting points on the economy and stagnant wages: http://archive.is/Ob9GG

I can see why you don't like them. Why wish them on anyone else?

What's most interesting to me is how wrong they are.

http://www.shadowstats.com/alternate_data/unemployment-charts

If you go there, check out the current real rate of inflation too.

Between the two real statistics, you can get a good sense of why working people (and those who would like to be working) are so unhappy that Trump isn't really going to do anything he promised. Not that he could have anyway. The TwoParty controlled Congress would never go along.

And some discussion regarding why inflation and unemployment are so high.

Been a John Williams fan for years.  It's amazing how many economic statistics get distorted when you underreport CPI.

What? He's just using the methodology that was required by law in 1980 and 1990. Current "inflation" is calculated differently. That's not "underreporting", it's just deception. Do you know the things they intentionally leave out of the Official Federal Calculations?

I think it's an even worse deception to pretend people who are completely discouraged and in despair of ever finding work again are somehow no longer counted as unemployed. Cheesy

(I don't offer articles like this as investment advice, but as commentary on political economy.)

Unfortunately, there isn't much the President can do to help without Congress getting involved, and it seems Congress likes things pretty much the way they are... Cry

US style capitalism is destroying itself. The corporation's bottom line is all important, at the expense of everybody else who depend on the corporation. So rather than make the situation better by beginning to share the wealth, the corporation will make it even worse by hording the wealth among it's shareholders.

This is quite different that the European system.

Read a good book called, 'A Declaration of Interdependence', by Will Hutton.

And that's one of the reasons why Europe is in such a collossal fiancial mess. Re-distribution of wealth is a bad idea, no matter which language is being spoken. Europe is a terrible economic model. The European oligarchy is self-appointed. They don't answer to anyone but themselves.

Here are some superior economic models;

The World Economic Forum (WEF) ranks Switzerland #1 followed by Singapore, then US is #3.

edit: If corporations didn't distribute earnings amongst their shareholders, THEY WOULDN'T HAVE ANY SHAREHOLDERS.
