Who could possibly oppose that? Grin

Schumer? McCain? Everybody in the TwoParties and all the Judges they've appointed?

How about that Wasserman-Schultz woman? Certainly she must hate the sort of injustice created by civil forfeiture?

What does Bernie have to say about it?

Our new Attorney General, for one thing. I'd guess it won't take long before Sessions denounces Paul as a druggie in waiting.

Do you suppose Mr. Sessions has the courage, moral fortitude or intellectual integrity to justify "civil forfeiture" as anything other than a relic of Medieval tyrants?

I don't give a crap about why he might want to implement Medieval tyranny in America, his goal might be entirely "pure"... But Medieval tyranny isn't justified by any lofty goal expressed by tyrants... And the lofty goals are never realized.

How could he? He wouldn't know the meaning of any words as big as "Medieval tyrants"! Wink

If he's fool enough to believe there's no reason to do away with asset forfeiture because he can't or won't get what's so pernicious about it, he can't be that bright.

He thinks it's a wonderful tool to fight drug dealers and narco gangs that will only be applied to bad people.
That's delusional thinking, but being delusional about something (or even many things) doesn't mean you are stupid.

The reason to stop it is because it's one of those tools of tyrants that our Constitution prohibits.

Well if that's what he thinks you had the first two words of that sentence wrong. Wink

Except that, sooner or later, you'd think the intelligent man would disabuse himself of his delusions.

I think it's the "unreasonable" part that gets them hung up. Wink

It's not a simple cut and dried thing. Not even genius prevents people from being fundamentally wrong about things outside their area of expertise.
