You can have as many children as you want.

Ordinary Chinese are now permitted to have two children.

That's not as many as some Chinese people want.

Also, it's legal to discriminate on the basis of anything else except the things in anti-discrimination law.
It is inherent in humans to discriminate. Our government however is prohibited from discriminating lest it pass "laws" favoring tall people over short people.

Where on earth does the purported power to pass discriminatory laws come from?

Yes, I follow world news also. I am not unaware of china's laws. In fact I met a Chinese woman who had been bought by an American man as a wife.  She told me an involved story about how her mother had violated the one child law by having her, and that her mother was actually pregnant and swimming across a river from the police, and later was sold as a wife to some barbarian in Portland Maine, who beat her a bit, then when she got older got rid of her and bought a new Philipino, like traded her in for a new model.

Those laws would not violate any principle they're supposed to adhere to, nor would it be illegal for the Post Office or the CIA to simply only hire tall people because they just feel like it, without institutionalising it.

You can discriminate as much as you like, even as a government official, just not against the Golden; the Protected.

Ideally the power to pass laws comes from the People, who are all discriminatory, racist, classist, or otherwise biased shits themselves. Demanding in Law what none of us believes in (except maybe me) is a facade at best. The truth is that every group just wants advantage for itself, which is why we end up with a few golden groups who can't be touched, while everyone else just has to sink or swim on his own and suck it up if someone thinks he's too dumb, too smart, to tall, or too short to associate with.

I did it too until I joined a high IQ group. I didn't see my own biases until I saw other people engaging in the exact same ones. We're all genetically preprogrammed to think whatever we are is the best, somehow deserving of more... and it tends to show.

If the law says you can't sit with the tall people, or go in places where tall people go, or vote, or own property or ever even think about being hired by the government or placed in any military organization with tall people etc., one simple principle is violated. Equality under law. Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry

But... crappity smack you you genetically inferior short shit. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin It's obvious why no one wants you around... What Tall Person could ever trust you to be a good soldier in their squad?

What Tall family could possibly want you polluting their gene pool with your defective short genes?

In America, that is the law, not just some heretofore unrealized ideal.

For a one percenter genius, you are as dense as a mules skull.

We the People of the United States grant our government these powers. Congress shall have all power to create law. (As I keep telling you, ho hum, in the law, "shall" means "must".)

In any venue, all means all....

I hope "all" isn't one of those words like "is" that 'progressives' or geniuses can't figure out? Cry

You should get out more often. There are lots of really good people in America.

Sometimes even the majority of really good people (or more often their elected representatives) get really bad ideas. The madness of crowds is sometimes contagious.

That's why the federal system created by the U.S. Constitution is so wonderful. There is enough division of power and enough checks and balances to ensure that all those biased assholes won't ever get there way...

We should try using it! Smiley

Are you not aware of how our Constitution was fundamentally changed by the Supreme Court in order to authorize FDRs "New Deal"? That is what caused the problems, and it was done illegally.

Keep screaming and crying that it was illegal.

If there's not a mechanism in place to punish it, it's not really illegal, now is it?
