My issue is not that health care costs have gone up but that insurance costs have gone up under the so-called "Affordable" Care Act.

Before the ACA, my premiums went up about three to five percent every year.  With its passage, my premiums immediately more than doubled and have gone up about ten percent every year since.  Plus employers are moving workers about different providers in a desperate attempt to keep it affordable.  I had a policy that accepted Kelsey-Seybold which I was happy with.  Then my employer pulled that policy and offered one that did not.  So I went to this doctor's office that actually had help wanted signs for doctors.  It looked like a welfare office and had obviously been set up to take advantage of many companies making the same change away from Kelsey.  So much for "you can keep your policy, you can keep your doctor, huh?"

Affordable Care Act did not make insurance affordable.  It only forced people who work hard to pay for their own policies to work even harder to pay for the policies of others.

the republicans destroyed the ACA and you were part of it. They did it on behalf of the big donor insurance companies because your government is corrupt. You can't support them at the same time you condemn them for corruption.

In any case Ron Paul has made it clear that it was fukked up before the ACA and still is. He suggests that doctors work for free.

I suggest something a little more practical that works all over the world. Maybe you should try Ron Paul's 'free' plan for a few years?

How did Republicans pass the ACA?  I have a lot of criticism for the GOP but the are clean on the ACA.  Not one Rep voted for it.  Obama had large majorities in both houses and he still had to use bribery and lies to get it passed.

"It" meaning our medical system has been crappity smacked up since the government got involved in it.  No surprise to anyone but socialists.

Again, a complete misinterpretation on your part.  There is no "Ron Paul 'free' plan."  As a doctor, Ron Paul believes that doctors should work free for the poor and indigent as they did in the past.  It was always part of their profession and it worked very well until the government took over charity.  Then doctors saw no reason to treat the poor when the government was taking such a large chunk of their work product in order to provide health care to the poor.  Sad that lawyers still do pro bono work, but not doctors.

I guess supporting the ACA was a blatant admission that up to that point, government health care wasn't helping the poor very well.

Yes. Get rid of the idea of needing government approval. That's what we are talking about. Ending government enforced cartels.

Argue for them of it suits you, but stop pretending to be shocked when libertarians argue against them.

You're not against them. You've said before that you're in favour of medical licensing. Most libertarians are.

Need I quote you? Because I will.

The US government is totallly can completely to blame for inflated healthcare costs and the broken system. Ron Paul has helped us to firmly establish that it's very broken. Debate settled! Big smackdown for burnsred and he's reacting in kind now too.

As to government's failure: The US government, under Trump or any other rightist government has no solution for fixing the country's healthcare system. They will always have to refuse to consider universal, government run healthcare.

The reason for not accepting government run healthcare is the same as the reason why the US can't fix it's problem with gun violence. Big money lobbying!

Everybody knows big money interests are being protected in both cases. The lobbyists are going to make sure any politicial who rocks the status quo boat on either issue is going to be destroyed before the next election.

These are truths that libertarians should be able to accept. The corruption in their government has become far more important than protecting gun rights or freedom of choice on healhcare.

Reasonable people need to come to understand that neither is being threatened in a real sense.

Take you time assholes, it's only you and your loved ones who are getting burnt by big money interests!

Ironically, I was in a doctor's office waiting room when I just read that.  I was going to give a lengthy answer, but all the Canadians chattering about how they don't have to deal with that "hoser" health care system and how they have waiting lists not waiting rooms were pretty distracting.

What were you saying again?
