What If There Was a Libertarian President? [school project]

Hi guys, this is my first post. I'm doing a project for school.

The election is over, a Libertarian President has won. Now what?
What are the steps that are immediately needed to take by this Libt. President? What are the changes that are wanted to be made instantly or gradually? Would anything get done? How can he/she get congress to pass any proposed bill? What power does the President really have to get anything a Libertarian wants done? What are some certain scenarios or obstacles this President would run into?
Basically, I'm looking to simulate the first 4 years of a Libertarian presidency and see what would happen.

Remember, this isn't how can the Libertarian win the election, we're past that. It's what are they going to do once they're in the oval office.

Do we have enough libertarians in congress to stop the other two sides from shutting everything the P tries?

Both factions of the TwoParties would suddenly discover the Constitutional powers of Congress and the very real limits on the power of the President.

There are lots of things a President could do- Just fire everybody who works at the Dept. of Education for instance, and don't hire anybody to replace them. This would cause what the talking heads call a "Constitutional crises" and talk of impeachment would erupt...
I think such an action would have good effect by forcing a real discussion regarding the Constitutionality of having a Dept. of Education in the first place.

As noted by others, congress and the bureaucracy will thwart any actually libertarian agenda.

A libertarian president could adopt the Obama style of one-man governance and enact all of his programs through executive orders.  But he would have to be ready to ignore the courts when they ruled that he can't over-ride congress that way.  Our highly politicized justices did not do that with Obama or they did it way to late, but they would be quick to smack down a libertarian.

It would be up to the libertarian president to not allow himself to be smacked down.

A libertarian president could pretty quickly roll back a lot of our foreign entanglements though.  Withdraw troops from around the world and what not.

Good point.

I was just wondering what steps a libertarian government could take to gradually implement libertarianism.  Pulling our of foreign entanglements would automatically save a huge amount of money, prevent our young service people from being killed in countries they hadn't heard of before they got sent their and give the world less reason to be angry at us all the time.

I see no downside for the U.S. by doing that.

Yep.   Smiley

Day 1:  pull US troops out of all foreign countries which are NOT at War with the US.

Day 2:  Ask Congress to Repeal the 16th Amendment.  Abolish Income Tax.

Day 3:  Propose immediate Spending Cuts to offset the lost Income Tax funding  (anytime we cut/end a tax, we must cut spending accordingly!)

Day 4:  Bid farewell to NATO.  The mission of NATO has changed since the Soviet Union disbanded in 1991. NATO has morphed into an anti-terrorist military force for European countries - the US is no longer needed in this organization.

Day 5:  Eliminate or downsize unneeded Federal agencies. (There are many -  this may take a while)

Day 6:  Behold the rebirth of Liberty and Freedom.  Declare a day of national celebration!  Smiley   Smiley

(ok,  in reality, it would take years to accomplish these feats. The Deep State will fiercely resist all of them.)

After day one you'd need a cooperative congress to achieve all of that.

If our country elected a Libertarian president, it's an indication that voters are fed up with UniParty obstruction/trickery.  Voters can drain that [Congress] swamp in one election cycle.
