One thing Scott Horton keeps bringing up is that DPRK's official statement on negotiations is that they will not negotiate as long as the US keeps "practicing invasions" off their border, but if this belligerence ends, the issue is negotiable.

Of course those juche-commies know that intransigence of US foreign policy from one regime to the next - not too long ago the Clinton non-proliferation deal was reneged-upon by Bush and this spawned their nuclear program in the first place.

If I'm reading the Tea leaves correctly, the decision whether to attack North Korea will come down to who in DC wins this geopolitical debate 1) those who calculate that NK being the 'bad boy' in the region is more useful to bring other countries into line with Washington's hegemonic dictates, or 2) the people who argue that any little country not toeing the DC-line can not be tolerated.

If I understand it correctly, there's nothing in the US arsenal that could prevent a few thousand artillery shells from messing-up Seoul in the event of an attack, and this would probably be a pretty big stain on the already tarnished US international image.

The political fallout would require a 'new era' of political suppression among the US client states.  Some folks in the Imperial City probably relish the thought, but do they feel ready for this?

We will see.

You're seeing it pretty clearly in my opinion. It's just too bad we can't carry on a decent discussion on this forum without the usual spamming by the same culprits.

I hope you also understand that China is behind the whole thing and they're not going to relent to US pressure until they rid their sphere of influence from US occupation.

The two Koreas' agenda is more likely to succeed than any other agenda and that's within China's interests if it's on China's terms.

The Koreas both want to reunite.

I can definitely see the crunch coming when China demands equal rights to occupy some of Central and South America. Likely beginning with becoming Cuba's proxy nuclear power.

There's no winning endgame for the US now. China and Russia have arrived and the party's over. Syria and the Ukraine were the first signs. N.K. is now a part of it.

I love it when you talk about "spheres of influence", it exposes you as a "progressive" imperialist.

Isn't it Russia's mission to take the Americas into their "sphere of influence"?

Since you declare us over and everyone's bitch, why are you so obsessed with us, troll?

You're supposed to be ignoring me, but don't on this thread. I want to keep this one alive because I think it's going to be a real embarrassment for the psychopath president.
