Sort of like our State Lotteries, only they allow other sorts of gambling too... As long as the profits go to the State.

And you'll notice that gambling that doesn't profit the State is illegal and punishable by fines and prison.

Maybe Canada has a better idea... Probably not.


Just off the top of my head, state run gambling might be another solution to how government can be funded without theft.  Let the government run online gambling sites and they might attract players who don't trust privately run gambling. 

For that to be libertarian, gambling would have to be completely legal in the private sector and government-run gaming should have no advantage other than people's willingness to trust them more so than the gangsters who founded and may still run casino gambling in the U.S.

All your ideas just promote more corruption in your country. You've still got the clown car in reverse and you're taking longer than even the Chief to get yourself socially straightened out.
