https://thediplomat.com/2018/01/when-a-north-korean-missile-accidentally-hit-a-n...

What happens when a North Korean ballistic missile test fails in flight and explodes in a populated area? On April 28, 2017, North Korea launched a single Hwasong-12/KN17 intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) from Pukchang Airfield in South Pyongan Province (the Korean People’s Army’s Air and Anti-Air Force Unit 447 in Ryongak-dong, Sunchon City, to be more precise). That missile failed shortly after launch and crashed in the Chongsin-dong, in North Korean city of Tokchon, causing considerable damage to a complex of industrial or agricultural buildings.

According to a U.S. government source with knowledge of North Korea’s weapons programs who spoke to The Diplomat, the missile’s first stage engines failed after approximately one minute of powered flight, resulting in catastrophic failure. The missile never flew higher than approximately 70 kilometers. The location of the missile’s eventual impact was revealed exclusively to The Diplomat and evidence of the incident can be independently corroborated in commercially available satellite imagery from April and May 2017.

These are the people that American lefites want us to emulate?

Speaking of American lefties, they may be confused by the term "corroborated" in relation to a news stories.  Verifying facts is something that professional journalists still do rather than being partisan hacks who rush every half-assed claim to air or print if it serves a political end.

First of all, find a source for the US news being broadcasted to ensure that it's truthful. RTnews is always a good alternative. If both say it's true then it likely is. If RT says it's false then search further for other sources.

As to rockets crashing, these people are attempting to emulate the US. The reason any country does that is quite obvious. They know they can only begin to live without fear when they become nuclear capable.

A good strong argument can be posed on even Russia doing it for the same reason.

Most of the reason other countries don't have nice things is that they don't have the MIC-inflated petrodollar.

All our nice things are made in other countries.

Does that apply to Argentina and France and Greece and North Korea?

I know China wants a (temporarily) gold backed Chinese "world reserve currency"...

Why should anybody trust them? Because they haven't run over anybody with tanks lately?

The Chinese driver of that tank showed some social responsibility and didn't run over the man standing in front of his tank.

That's how your hate propaganda can be countered by reverse propaganda of love and social responsibility.

Sure, any country's government feels that it can better cling to power if it controls nuclear weapons.  For the North Koreans and their Chinese handlers, they might have traded the fear of being overthrown or invaded for the fear of li'l Kim shooting himself in the foot but with a nuke instead of a six-gun.

For those with an antiwar agenda, N.K. having nuclear weapons can only be seen as a good thing.

All real libertarians would likely agree on that. Why don't you?

I wouldn't know.  I have an anti-aggression agenda, not an anti-war agenda.  If an aggressor insists on war, a free people bear no guilt in giving it one.  Of course that has not happened here since 1812, when the British invaded the U.S. in order to free slaves.

As of now, it is neither good nor bad for the idea of "peace" that Li'l Kim has nukes.   It's bad for the North Koreans if  he keeps accidentally shooting his rockets at his own cities, especially if one has a nuke on it.  Instead of MAD (mutually assured destruction), Kim has SAD (self assured destruction).  He knows that any attempt to nuke the U.S. or U.S. troops in SK would result in the wiping off the map of NK.  Luckily, we have a president who doesn't take Kim's childish rants seriously.

Remember my school principal analogy:  Li'l Kim is like a first grader trying to scare grownup by going "BOOGAH, BOOGAH, BOOGAH, BOOGAH!"  The teachers might say, "Now, Kim, that's not appropriate.  You shouldn't frighten people." Principal Trump just goes "BOOGAH, BOOGAH" right back and laughs.

Trumps detractors on this are like superstitious cafeteria ladies who say, "Dios mio!  The little Chino boy es el Nino de Diablo!  Aye!  El Director is evil man too!"

I hate to contemplate Hillary in the White House with a nuclear armed North Korea.  She would over-react to Kim's every statement which would only egg him on.  Imagine the guilt her husband would feel at having given Kim the nukes during his administration.

Governments having nuclear weapons is a good thing, but citizens having guns causes death and destruction?

That's because you understand that the purposes are exactly opposite. Nuclear weapons are to prevent war. Guns are meant for killing Americans.
