Good post, Don_G.  Smiley

Dr. Paul understands very well what happens to a country when its government is allowed to run amok.

"America’s reckless debt and military spending will eventually cause the system to crash and burn like the final days of the Soviet Union".

The US inches itself closer and closer to the totalitarian regime that the former Soviet Union had become before Gorby agreed that it needed to be reformed.

There is no way the US can ever pay its debts.  So we continue to spend recklessly and expand the Military as quickly as possible - get it while the gettin's good.

Unfortunately, someday the music will stop. When it does, America will have a new paradigm. That's Ron Paul's message.

I'm surprised our dear Donat wanted people to hear about the evils of unconstrained government.

Do you think he's coming around?

The US can pay it's debts but it's not a priority over the people's wellbeing.

First look after poverty and other social needs, then recovery comes and then debts can become an issue.

Social responsibility is always the priority. That's a message the Soviet Union forgot. Putin is starting to put it right again.

Donat is the wise one who knows these things. Pseudo-libertarians are lost in their little world wondering how they can make their politics worth paying attention to by the people of their country.

Actually, we cannot pay our debts.  The Federal Debt is currently over $20 Trillion.  The Federal cash reserves are estimated at around $130 Billion.  The Treasury's gold reserves are around $336 Billion.

See the proplem?  We simply dont have the money to pay our debts when they come due. America is insolvent, and has been for some time, now.  The Federal debt exceeds the GDP.
