That's not really a response Chief.

It is if you understand the question. Let's recap.

I said the government needs the consent of the governed. All of them. Then you said that was nonsense.

I just mean that if you take out a segment of the population and say that they can't vote, anything done to them by the government is illegitimate force.

Nonsense. A legitimate limited government has no grant of power to "do things" to anyone other than the few things under its granted powers, and those few things are legitimate.

Our system, based on theories of equality under the law, is prohibited from treating non-voters differently from voters.

You said it was nonsense based on the fact that the government already can't exceed its granted powers.

I then ROFLstomped you.

If you don't understand how, get good at debating.

Yes. It is nonsense. The government has made theft illegal. Thieves don't consent to the law.

Anarchists, of which there are always a few, don't consent to any government. You give them a veto power that would prevent government from existing despite the fact that most people want government so their rights and property will be protected from thieves and anarchists.

They're given the right to vote as an admittedly poor way to justify the power the government has over them, because they are given a share in the choices made by the government.

Take away the right to vote and there is no justification, rather than a slim one.

And you'll note I've said before that felons should not be stripped of the right to vote.

If you look at the actual law, you will discover that governments in America have very limited power over us people.

That's the way we wanted it to be.

That's why we agreed to the Constitution that the Federalists told us all about. It left us free. Even more, it guaranteed we would be free.

I keep telling you that that power, in principle, is granted in exchange for the right to vote.

You can't arrest a man for steelworking if he had no say in whether steelworking was declared illegal or not.

Admittedly doing thing like this is still arguably very unfair, but any tenuous justification you had for it goes out the window when you remove his right to vote.

You are making things up. At the time the powers were granted and the duties distributed around, voting was considered a duty and a privilege.

Its "democracy" minded "progressives" who think it should be a right. It never was, and shouldn't be if we are to preserve (resurrect?) republican forms of government.

You always miss Oppo's relevant points:

"You can't arrest a man for steelworking if he had no say in whether steelworking was declared illegal or not."

What is it that your sweet parts don't understand about steelworking being illegal?

Why do you say you're free on this thread and then complain about the socialists and communists ruining your country and making you not free on the other thread?

What kind of cofused drugged out wanker are you anyway?

And besides, I've smelled pig scent on your sweet parts again!

The law says our government has a duty to preserve the Blessings of Liberty.

Our government isn't following the law.

Libertarians must come together and stop arguing with each other to have an impact in elections.

Libertarians could become a thousand strong and even have a candidate on the ballots!

Being noticed is part of the battle to stop being robbed by the government at gunpoint. About .000000000001% of it!
