I don't wan to sound vain but I think it's got something to do with my criticism of America that's causing a lot of the problem.

That is, with the Chief, Jeff, ahhell, and maybe some I've missed. But on the other hand, not with burnsred because he is completely sincere in his support of Trump and his prowar attitude.
...maybe I'm just being vainglorious?

Don't include me in that group. I have stated many times that the US should clear out of the Korean Peninsula and clear the path for re-unification talks between NoKo and South Korea. (in other threads)

You're confused because you didn't read what I said. It was about criticism of your country, not about reunification.

I think the U.S. should clear out of the Korean Peninsula so we don't have to spend money and risk American lives protecting South Korea.

But a reunification with North Korea would likely be very bad for South Korea because, as Don correctly notes, it would be under China's sphere of influence which means that the people will have far fewer rights.  As a clear-headed libertarian, we have to recognize the downside of following our policies and not pretend nothing bad is going to happen.

Once the U.S. stops playing international babysitter, some of the kids are going to play with matches and they are surrounded by gas cans.

We?

The South Koreans and the Japanese and the Vietnamese and Indonesia, just to mention a few, don't want to be puppets of Communist China.

Why do you think they would?

Satellite states is what they used to be called in the 1st Soviet Empire.

Or "Socialist Republics".

Often "captive nations".

Which do you think will apply in China's new expanded "sphere of influence"?

Well, this clear-headed libertarian says we need steer clear of foreign entanglements. A clarion message from (Founding Father) George Washington.

Who declared the US "international babysitter"? I'll punch him in the nose.  Metaphorically, of course.  Wink

"Progressives" like Woodrow Wilson and Teddy Roosevelt and later FDR were the one's who got it started, as you already know, but the current policy is essentially a result of International Socialism (Communists) planning and working to bring the entire world under their authority so they could makes us all into good "socialists", except for the hundreds of millions they would have to kill.

They were subverting governments all around the world (with the help of useful idiots like anarchists) and constantly vowed that they would destroy America. They not only were talking about destroying America, they were working hard at doing it...

Of course you know all this, and how it led to the perceived need to fight, all around the world, to stop Communists from destroying governments and enslaving free people. Not alone for the sake of those other people, but because it seemed certain that America would need other free peoples to help us preserve our own freedom.

The power and staying power of the Communists was greatly overestimated... Nevertheless, not all that much has changed other than that there are far more people in the world who have been convinced that "socialism" will make them "free".

The plan of the Chinese Communist Party to create an Empire and the obvious desire of the Russians to re-create the Soviet Empire give ammunition to those who believe that, in order to keep America free, we must help people around the world to be free by fighting with them and for them.

But just look as what happened when the Soviet Union fell and 'they' didn't try anymore!

The US started over 37 wars of aggression since WW2 alone, and especially began a program of complete domination and control over the ME (PNAC)

Which sort of proves that what you are saying is just lies. Or at least it does for the years since the fall of the Soviet Union.

I would suggest that without nuclear weapons in the hands of the Soviets, the US would have accomplished complete world domination and empire.

So does Pat Buchanan as stated just today on antiwar.com
