Those on this libertarian forum who think "just a litle" statism can't hurt, should learn the lesson of that wall.

All government arises from the desire of a few to control others and from the willingness of the many to trade safety for freedom.  Socialism is the worst and least successful example.  The monarchies of Europe lasted far longer than the Soviet Union did.

Socialism wasn't a new and successful idea.  It was only new.  Sooner or later socialism will even collapse in Don's country.  Social Security will fail after gutting the non-social security treasury so it will take down the government-as-provider and reduce it to government-as-power-clinger. 

Companies will move to countries in which the socialist governments have already been overthrown or in which they can bribe government officials into giving them the freedom to operate.
