Yes, what they are actually doing is trying to move to countries where they will be more free. It's not all about getting rich. Some want religious and political freedom and don't care at all about getting rich.

True, Jeff.  But I do think most want to improve their economic status.  Just about all of us do.

Most probably think it's a bonus if they can be free and maybe get rich too, or at least live to see their children do well.

Right.

Saying "the rich own everything" is hyperbole, but it's often used to foster resentment and "class" warfare.
Usually "Kill the rich and take all their property for The People" is what follows.

Was that your intent in using it?

No. My intent was nothing more than the point I made in the post. They have a disproportionate control over land, property, and the means of production, and will simply raise prices if taxed. No one is going to rise to compete with Walmart if Walmart raises its prices. Nevermind that all its competitors, who are also rich, are being taxed too, so they will raise their prices as well.

This moral relativism of yours is exactly what lets government take this freedom, then that freedom, until we have lost them all.

You know I'm on your side, right? Raising taxes on the rich won't help anybody.

Just those in government who enjoy the power they have to take money from some people and give it to others.  I'd like to take Nancy Pelosi's giant gavel and pound her over the head with it.  Remember that giant gavel of hers?  She was proudly displaying it when the Dems voted in the (Un)Affordable Care Act.

You wingnuts just about have it figured out now that the poor can get rich and the rich can get poor. Tremendous progress!

I could have answered Ruby in a minute but why bother when it can cast a spell on the forum for a couple of days.

A "spell"! OOOOOoooooooo!
