Used needles and human feces are found littering downtown San Francisco as infectious disease expert warns the area is becoming dirtier than some slums in India and Brazil.

A recent investigation found 100 drug needles and more than 300 piles of feces on a 153 block area of downtown San Francisco .

A SOCialist Solution:

Governments in other socialist countries provide long-term housing for poor people,  many of whom make an attempt to keep at least their homes and surroundings livable.

But the homeless who live on the streets of downtown San Francisco are routinely being kicked from one encampment to the next, and therefore, don't feel a sense of obligation to clean up after themselves.

They need to be given permanent housing.

Giving the homeless permanent housing is a socialist solution Chief. It doesn't work. They trash the houses they are given and still drop used needles and trash on the streets, and when they plug up the toilets in their "free" housing, they shit on the streets.

They don't feel obligated to maintain their "free" houses because they didn't have to work to get them.

What they need are fewer handouts and jobs, which a free economy could provide.

I thought you were just on about redistribution of wealth being immoral? Now it's immoral not to give the homeless "free" houses?

I just posted what was in the dailymail.co.uk article.  Those are not MY (socialist) views!

Tucker Carlson examines the vagrant crisis in San Francisco.

"It's turning into a 3rd World country here."  Joe Alioto Veronese/San Francisco D.A. candidate

Right, and the "vagrant crises" is why you called for free housing for vagrants.

Again Jeff, I didn't call for free housing for anyone.  That was the dailymail.co.uk article that I linked.

As more and more people flee California to escape uber-high taxes, the State Tax revenues are dropping fast.

Naturally, spending cuts would be the logical action to offset the loss in revenues.

Instead, Governor Brown tried a radical policy which nobody could have predicted:

He INCREASED spending!   Shocked

Today the state is so far in the RED, and no hopes for solvency.

California is really in trouble and in dire need of sensible leadership. We can't endure any more socialist policy - we are quickly becoming a Third-World country.

Your graph clearly shows that the rate of population increase in CA is falling and has been for quite a while.

That is the demographics thing that is helping kill the welfare state entitlement giveaways.

It's the cherry on the icing on the cake for Kalifornia, which does everything wrong from a political economy viewpoint.

The best bet would be to try to get China to buy Kalifornia. Wink

Here's another graph which explains the shift towards democratic socialism:

Show the same graph with a much longer time frame, thanks.

The shift to democratic socialism in Kalifornia came in the '60s and never left.

It just kept taking more and more control, if you could call it government control when the government is entirely out of control. Cheesy

Anyway, democratic socialists are the cause of Kalifornia, not immigrants.

You're right about the problem not being with immigants. Tucker tried to throw that one in because he knows it appeals to Fox news' fascist base.

Homeless people living on the streets need bathroom facilities. build some. Problem fixed.

As to another country that is similar to the US in not looking after homeless people, find a country that has the same sort of attitude that the US has.

It's not going to be one of the happpy countries, it will be anothere unhappy country.

Here's a socially responsible solution: https://www.newsweek.com/homeless-paid-clean-streets-texas-786311
