No, Jeff, they're not babies. If they've physically matured, they're adult Humans.
Physically, yes, but if they are still mentally and emotionally babies...

Well, they just aren't adults if that is the case.

Short sighted legislators giving away the farm for votes:

Our children and grandchildren are set up to pay for it all, but they won't be able to...

Vons has the store-brand roasted pistachios for $9.59/pound.   I don't know if they are "good quality" though.

We buy 'em occasionally - they seem pretty good quality.

That seems strange, considering that California is the second largest producer of pistachio nuts in the world... You'd think they be cheap.

Not really, long distance shipping is remarkably cheap.

@  0:51 seconds Maxine says:

"Millennials are a force  -  I recognize it  -  I was a millennial once!"

If any other Congress critter had made the remark, they would have been made a laughing stock.

But we cut cut Maxine some slack.  Because. . . .  well, you know. . . . .  Low IQ and stuff. . . . .

I live in this woman's district - she is my representative.

You can imagine my frustration when I have to write to her about serious issues that we Californians face.

But it does add some cost to the nuts I buy, so they should cost more here on the East coast.

Probably it just costs a lot more to own and operate a grocery store in CA, so they have to charge more for everything.

Long distance transport via rail or shipping likely adds pennies to the cost, likely to the bushel of nuts, an increase that would likely be lost on the retail price.

You are right of course, it is much more expensive to operate a grocery in califiornia.  Its just at worst, I'd expect the price of nuts in the east to essentially the same as they were in CA.  The price of groceries in CA can very extremely depending on the location.

There will be a time when the cows come home and the chickens go to roost, a tipping point:
