That's a bald lie, you bald %$#&.

Libertarians don't believe they have to honour any contracts unless they use the word "hereby" to indicate a title transfer.

That's horseshit.

I would personally like to see what would happen if Jones brought a copy of that article to court and attempted to use the "Libertarian" defence.

Give it a try. Break a contract, and when you get to court, tell the judge it wasn't a valid contract because it doesn't say "hereby". Cheesy

I know. That's the kind of libertarian I want to be.
In other words, dishonorable.

I agree with the Chief on this. Rothbard was completely wrong.

Leftists always told me the loans were my fault.

Hmm ... I opposed the government policies to push sub prime loans that got the banks in trouble ...

... I opposed bailing them out when they failed ...

... so it's my fault.

There really is no explanation of the left other than overt stupidity
They like crony capitalism. It's their new Ideal of government.

Well, as an anarchist, I'm not clear what he means by contracts being enforceable under any conditions.   An anarchist by definition, government would have no power to enforce contracts.
Right, there being no government, they wouldn't have any power. You'd have to enforce the agreement yourself, hoping the power you could muster to do it would be greater than the power available to resist your attempt to retrieve your stolen property.

1) Consideration.  There must be consideration for a contract to be valid.   You can't enforce a contract that says only I will pay you $1,000.  It's a one way contract.  I'm getting no consideration, only you are.  Both sides must get something for it to be enforceable.
If you promise to give someone a gift, you must think the giving itself rewards you, otherwise why would you do it? What you receive in return for a gift is intangible, but it must have been real enough to you to motivate you to give.

Thanks for the babbling stupid crap, Joe Biden.  More of your stupid, ignorant crap about contracts.  You think people sign a contract when they take a job.  Now people sign a contract when they give a gift.  We have one thing in common, neither of us knows what the hell you are talking about

Some people have written employment contracts, most have verbal employment contracts.

Verbal contracts are enforceable, just not as easily. Smiley

It's a contract your boss can change at will.  You claimed you had to agree to a contract change and you'd sue your employer if they fired you if you didn't agree to the new contract.  They had to keep paying you.  You live in a work at will State, you claim to have been in management, and you don't know what that means
