Nobody can define 'mental illness' as being a large % of the people. It contradicts the very term. Ask burnsred to fill you in on how that works Craig Sickler.

On the contrary, "progressives" have a certifiable mental disorder, and "progressives are roughly 25-30% of the population in the U.S.

That's a large number of people.

Another Mass Student Walk-Out today.

Students from more than 2,500 schools across the country will walk out of their classes to demand gun control.
https://www.cnn.com/us/live-news/national-school-walkout/

Who organized it?

The people who organized the first Children's Crusade Against Guns, who else.

"But organizers said the movement doesn't stop today, and they're encouraging young people to push for legislation at the state level if Congress doesn't act."

(They didn't think it was important to the story to tell us who the organizers are...)

Edit: It goes back to these people, the partners-

They should look to California as a model for anti-gun legislation at the state level. I firmly believe they are laying the groundwork for a gun confiscation here.  Our legislators continually come out with new "gun control" laws which violated the 2nd amendment. Each one a little bit more intrusive than the last. Supreme Court should step in, but they remain eerily silent.

I think they're softening us up for the day they announce a "mandatory buy-back" where all gun owners must hand over their arms, and the State will give them some token amount for each weapon surrendered - say like $75 per weapon.

Undoubtedly true and it's likely to happen in the next few days!

Even more eery than when Obama had plans to come in the night and take them all away. Be afraid, be very afraid!!

Show love for your gun but don't fondle it in places that make it feel uncomfortable. It will love you back!

Can knives be far behind, now that the Mayor of London has identified them as "weapons of war"?

I was a little shocked when he did that.  It demonstrates a profound level of ignorance.  Blaming the weapon instead of the person using it to kill others.

"For the last couple of decades, the biggest impediment to passing sane gun laws in America hasn't been the National Rifle Association. It hasn't been the Republican Party. It hasn't been public opinion, or some weird national firearm fetish. It's been the Democratic Party."

https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/why-democrats-are-losing-the-gun-deba...

Democrats believe that, by making (some types of) weapons illegal, Murderers and the criminally insane will be unable to kill innocent people.

Of course, it's absurd to believe this, but that's what's in their hearts.  They ignore the fact that Murderers and the criminally insane don't abide by gun laws or "gun control" measures.

This is why Democrats will always lose when it comes to a federal ban on "assault" weapons.

STATES on the other hand, CAN ban certain types of arms...  California has...   .50 cal BMGs  are outlawed. Period. And AR 15s must be registered with the DoJ.  So even though an AR 15 owner has committed no crime, he is still on the DoJ's "watch" list.

Violation of second and fourth amendments?  Of course it is.  But the Supreme Court won't touch it, and the Sacramento lawmakers know it.
