That is; you spent other people's taxpayer dollars to shoo away someone who offended you from afar.

As far as that goes, my taxes contribute to funding the Sheriffs and the Courts and the jail, and the idea is that they will enforce the law in the entire county in order to try to keep it a civilized place to live.

The topic is "income Inequality" but a rightist or a supposed libertarian can't address that because he understands nothing about how the whole problem was created and how government enabled the very rich to make it so.

The rightist and the libertarian come in at the point at which doing anything about the inequity would be stealing the rich people's money.

Socially responsible people act proactively to prevent the situation from ever developing and if it develops then finds ways to rectify the problem.

Americans prefer the former. fuk em, let them suffer. some will become pseudo-libertararians and that plays right into the hands of the very wealthy.

There's no sign that enough Americans are starting to 'get it' so far. The result is that the libertarian party could rise to a whopping 6%!

Libertarians and their intellectual forebears knew all about crony capitalism and tried to prevent it from ever happening in America.

You now suddenly oppose what you have constantly lauded as the way to save the world, "socially responsible government"?

Good for you, but i'm skeptical.

No, we shouldn't have to be the only country to have open borders.  We don't need to be taking in so many of the world's poor when we already have too many of our own to deal with.  Who is taking in any of our poor people?  No one.  But we must continue to allow poverty stricken illegals to pour into our country?

Intellectual forbears? Socialists? This is all a joke Craig that only the two of us are in on.

We're  both capitalists Craig. I promote social responsibility in government and reading between the lines, you do too. The words have meaning and you can't make them mean something else.

We may disagree on what social responsibility means though.

The words (social responsibility) either have real meaning or they are no longer worth using.

"Progressives", as they have done with so many other words, have made the words "social responsibility" meaningless.

If I remember your story right, I believe you called the police on the man who was NOT on your property at all.  That is; you spent other people's taxpayer dollars to shoo away someone who offended you from afar.

That's progressivism.

THANK YOU.

Either Billie's a progressive, or she thinks she owns the entire country. I wouldn't discount either.

Because nothing. Incomes are going to be unequal. To a libertarian this is nonsense.

It's as if I screeched at modern liberalism to address the fact that cats can't make up their minds.

Then, Aha, I declared, modern liberalism has no solution! I have refuted it!

This moral relativism of yours is exactly what lets government take this freedom, then that freedom, until we have lost them all.

So in your warped lexicon, the classical liberals who created America were the same as today's "progressives"? Or they were actually anarchists? How can we tell when "progressive" these days seems to mean authoritarian crony capitalist?

I prefer to call those on the left, "Lefties."  They stole the name, "Liberal" as that's what Libertarians used to be called.  I think they still are over in Britain.  "Progressive" doesn't make sense either as their policies don't promote progress.
