And you won't debate. You make declarations. That's all you do.

You declare that lives outweigh freedom this time, but you won't say whether an equal amount of lives outweigh freedom at other times.

You're not arguing from a principle. You just don't like guns. There's nothing behind your statement that lives outweigh freedom, not even evidence that you yourself believe it!

I'll always give you my opinion on when lives outweigh freedom. Sometimes I'll also suggest that you can have freedom and save lives too.

I 'do' dislike some guns and I'll tell you which ones and why if you ask me.

Don_G, there are at least four valid Constitutional reasons why people own guns in the United States to:

1, save good generations of people's lives by deterring government from becoming evil like previous corruptions of Adolf H., Joseph Stalin, Mao, Napoleon, Nero, the Inquisition, Jefferson Davis, etc.;

Good for you, Alayne.  You went a little beyond what is necessary, though.

You could should have stopped at #1.

The framers weren't really concerned about man-eating alligators when they added the 2nd Amendment.

They WERE concerned about "the security of a free State".

That's why the right to keep and bear arm is clearly spelled out in the Constitution.  The 2nd Amendment doesn't give Americans the right to keep and bear arms, it merely acknowledges this right, and makes it clear to Lawmakers (Congress) that this right "shall not be infringed".

Today's high school shooting

If americans can't behave properly with their guns then their rights are going to have to be curtailed. Sooner or later!

Not in the US, Don dear.  Our right to "keep and bear arms shall not be infringed".  It plainly says so in our Constitution.

Our lawmakers swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.  If they break that oath, it would be grounds for impeachment, and if convicted, will be removed from office (and possibly imprisoned).

Ask Dianne Feinstein.  She was taught a hard lesson about effing with our gun rights!  Grin

What lesson?

Messing with people's rights intentionally is felonious at the least and can extend to outright treason where you screw with people's rights in large groups and large numbers.

That's the treason end of the spectrum, right Red?

Assault Weapons Ban of 2013

The Assault Weapons Ban of 2013 (AWB 2013) was a bill introduced in the 113th United States Congress as S. 150 by Senator Dianne Feinstein, D-CA, on January 24, 2013, one month after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. It was soundly defeated in the Senate on April 17, 2013.

Had the Weapons Ban been passed, it would have been struck down by the Supreme Court on the grounds that it is in violation of the 2nd Amendment.

After the vote, Feinstein conceded that any Assault Weapon Bans will need to happen at the State level - not the Federal level.  This was the moonbat's hard lesson.

Oh. I knew about that. I thought you said she was forced to pay a penalty for trying to violate everyone's rights.

Not having your way in the Senate is no penalty at all.

I didn't mention any penalty. I said she learned a lesson:

Why the Hell would the same amount of lives not outweigh freedom every time?

If Robbie thinks his freedom is worth risking my life in Way A, then why is my freedom not worth risking Robbie's life in the same measure by Way B?

If she actually was taught a lesson, she'd stop trying to take everyone's guns.
