45,000 Americans Killed Without Health Care Yearly.

Why do Americans hate their fellow Americans. Why do they continue to keep their shit private for profit health care when it kills so many people every year?

Is profit more important to Americans than people's lives? Why do American parents allow their children to die for want of good  health care.

Why do communists in Cuba care more for their childrent than Americans? Is the US a rebirth of fascism of the sort that brought down Nazi Germany?

I do not disagree that this is happening, but the figures may be inflated. Let me explain.

We know insurance companies don't like to take risks. They may be refusing the people who are going to die anyway, regardless of care.

Examples would be morbidly obese people and cigarette smokers.

This moral relativism of yours is exactly what lets government take this freedom, then that freedom, until we have lost them all.

I've read that uninsured people don't die at any greater rate than people with medical insurance.

The morbidly obese and heavy smokers die whether they have medical insurance or not.

This study claims to directly contradict what you have read.

Aside from that, what oppo said.

Also, those uninsured are mostly covered by state run health systems and likely have also sorts of confounding life style choices.  Those choices may also explain why they are uninsured.

Private insurance has the luxury of choosing to not insure bad risk people. If not for some regulation over how they operate they could confine their choice to people who are the very least amount of risk. Let everybody else go find some kind of low quality insurance somewhere else. Most won't because what they will be offered won't be worth buying.

If private insurance companies can't be highly regulated to force them to insure everybody at the same price then it becomes a failed system. And no capitalist would ever agree to regulate insurance companies that way anyway. Especially not people who think they're libertarians.

The only answer to the problem so far devised is heavily regulated government run universal health care insurance. If a country can't accept that then they just have to continue with their failed system.

A large number of the American people seem to have made that choice. But the water has been tested with the ACA and people aren't going to forget what could have been.

Time is of no importance. Let the people suffer until they are ready to help themselves out of the holes they are digging for themselves and their children!

It's not the first study I have been in disagreement with, nor will it be the last. Grin

Exactly. They make insurance very expensive for people who build houses in high risk areas too, or young men who buy 700 hp supercars costing upwards of $250,000 dollars. Shocked

You think its a better idea that everyone gets the same Cadillac medical insurance, whether they have turned themselves into bad risks by being idle and smoking lots of unfiltered cigarettes and gaining an extra 200 pounds or so?

And productive people, whether they take care of their own health or not, should be made liable for it all?
