Not good.  I hope this sanction violation doesn't trigger something bigger.

Why are there sanctions? This is making people wonder that socialism might work. Why else do people bother to interfere to make it not work?

This moral relativism of yours is exactly what lets government take this freedom, then that freedom, until we have lost them all.

Good point.  Follow the money.  The oil money, petrodollars.

Um ... that article doesn't say anything about oil or petro dollars.

You also seriously don't understand what oil being a commodity means.  It means it doesn't matter if China buys the oil.  The US is better off if oil is shipped to China than if it stays unshipped.  If China gets oil, it reduces global demand and therefore prices.  Which benefits us.

I guess your tinfoil hat sites don't explain economics to you

Yesterday (April 13th), SoS Pompeo met with President of Peru, Martin Vizcarra, and Foreign Minister Nestor Popolizio to address the worsening humanitarian crisis in Venezuela.

"I thanked President Martin Vizcarra and Foreign Minister Nestor Popolizio for Peru’s outspoken support for restoring democracy in Venezuela."

“We have always said: with dictators, with tyrants, there is no dialogue. You fight them. We must fight them until liberties are restored so that the Venezuelan people can return to live with dignity.”

When Pompeo says "Fight", hopefully he means with sanctions and NOT the Military.

Regardless, it's clear that US intervention will continue until a regime change in Venezuela happens.

Regime changes and nation-building are always bad business for the US government to be involved in.

I agree with you, and, of course, what Pompeo said is total horse shit.

The US overthrew a democracy to install the repressive Shah in Iran in 1953, more recently helped overthrow the elected democracy in Egypt and installed the repressive dictator General al-Sisi there, and continues to aid and abet Saudi Arabia, with the most repressive regime in the world.

Some things Maduro shouldn't be doing:

Some problems Maduro has caused that we need to be screening for carefully among immigrants to the U.S.:

La  Presidente, C’est Moi

“And while the US seemed to believe their endorsement would put Guaido in power, it clearly hasn’t so far. It may ultimately be that Guaido would’ve found it faster to actually run for the office of president than awarding it to himself and then trying to convince everyone else.”
