Don, your opinions on other forum member's attitudes are irrelevant to me.  Please tell me how America is causing Venezuelans to go hungry.

What Caused Venezuela’s Tragic Collapse? Socialism.

I've explained it and you're not going to accept my explanation Ruby.

Can we use Cuba as an example that has had time to play out almost completely?

If we can then I guarantee that I'm not touting communism or pure socialism either.

If you can demonstrate a sincerity then I'm willing to explain further. But I think we're going to have to exclude Craig Sickler's ridiculous attempts to destroy any meaningful discussion.

Don, you can't tell me how America is responsible for Venezuela's economic problems because America isn't responsible.  The Venezuelan government is.

Don: Declaration of fact.
Ruby: Proof please.
Don: Prove you're worth my time.

...Let me just say that...

...This is not how logic works on my planet.

There's no point trying to prove anything to Ruby.

If you show an honest interest in knowing, I'll state my case to you. But if you even hint about Mars then it's all off..

Sure. Castro instituted a communist system in Cuba in 1959. He got lots and lots of help from the Soviet Union, but the Cubans never produced anything to sell to the world but cigars, and weren't allowed to start businesses or profit from their hard work, so their economy is still a basket case and Cubans are still overwhelmingly poor.

Cuba is a banana republic Craig and has done better than any other banana republic even with cruel US sanctions against them. Now they're starting to break free with the help of friendly communist and capitalist nations.

The US's argument against communism is always the same and it's always when the US interferes with the small country that has broken free of US influence.

Some are destroyed by US bombs and then pointed to as failures. Recently, some are being protected by other countries and are falling under those countries wings of protection. Cuba has broken free and is starting to prosper. Venezuela is still fighting for their freedom from US aggression.

Cuba was a banana republic under Batista Dong. They became a People's Republic under the Castro regime. That was suposed to make them free and prosperous, but as is always the case with People's Republics, it didn't.

Cuba has always been free to sell goods to other People's Republics, of which there are many, but Cuba didn't have anything to sell as a People's Republic and none of the other People's Republics had any money to buy things anyway.

Edit: OK, Venezuela had lots of wealth from their oil, but the People's Republic disease ruined Venezuela, now they need Cuba to help them... Cuba will probably send the surplus Revolutionary Freedom Fighters. Cheesy

And BTW, Cuba is permitting certain people to engage in business and earn profits. That is certain to cause crime, isn't it?

People's Republics always prosper once they've either defeated the US or they gain friends that protect them against the US.

Vietnam united is a great example and Cuba is quickly rising due to huge investments by China.

And I'm glad you join me in wishing well for the people of Venezuela! Especially the children that no decent person would want to see suffer under cruel US sanctions.

Power to the people!

Viva la revolucion!

God is dead!

And I was sorry to hear about your brother Billie Sickler's untimely death.
