Knife Control Measures In UK - Have They Gone Too Far?

The maximum penalty for an adult carrying a knife is 4 years in prison and an unlimited fine. You’ll get a prison sentence if you’re convicted of carrying a knife more than once.   Shocked

New proposals for Knife Control:

A judge wants the points of kitchen knives to be rounded and blunted to reduce the number of young men dying from stab wounds in street attacks.

Judge Nic Madge said ordinary kitchen knives were causing a “soaring loss of life”, rather than more heavily regulated large-bladed weapons.

Knife crime rose by 22% in England and Wales in 2017, according to the Office for National Statistics.

“Kitchens contain lethal knives which are potential murder weapons and only butchers and fishmongers need eight or 10 inch kitchen knives with points.”

Those moonbat Brits have completely lost their minds.  This sort of thing could happen in the US if we are not vigilant of a runaway government.

The question is, have stabbings reached the same level in the UK as in the US. If so then it's obvious that something has to be done about it. If not then they're likely overreacting.

Up to 4 years maximum penalty seems to be quite reasonable. Penalties have to have sensible limits or the UK will start loading their jails to overflowing as is the case in the US now.

Compare that to penalty handed out to an american 12 year old who was shot dead by cops before the kid even got to trial for playing with a toy gun! Duhhhhhhh!

I have some stainless steel butter knives that I could easily reshape and sharpen. I could also do a lot of damage with a large fork...

Have the Brits realized that?

Their next big wave of terrorist murders might be accomplished with cooking and carving forks? Another weapon of war to be found in the kitchen of dissidents seeking to destroy British society!

What about knitting needles for crissake?

English civilization could perish on the point of knitting needles wielded by innocent looking Matrons and Grannies, secretly serving the cause of anarchy... Shocked
