"Socially responsible government?"  Why does that automatically make me think of Socialism?

Because that's what it is, basically.  It's government re-distributing wealth from the productive to the non-productive.

Bernie Sanders is the poster-child for socially responsible government.

He wants to hand out "free" things like health care and college.

Of course, Bernie knows that nothing is FREE...  He knows that, in the end,  SOMEONE has to pay for it.

But he calls it "free" to trick ignorant and naive millennials into voting for him and moonbat policies.

Democrats are usually very generous when it comes to re-distributing your money.

Praise God you've finally answered my question!

How much is skimmed off by cronies during the redistribution process?

This can be critical! The government of Venezuela skimmed off too much! Angry

Edit: Oops! Sorry Chief, in my great desire to have Dong answer that question, I got confused... But huge thanks anyway for answering it for him.

Craig, that's far from the first time that's been said. And fwiw, it's true! The wealthy are taxed more than the poor. That's what a country is for!

I would uphold and support fair and even taxation of everybody if it is based on a per centage of the people's earnings.

But if it is rigged to give the wealthy a break by manipulating the fair system by giving them special favours, exemptions, kickbacks, loopholes, or any number of methods being used by your government, I would not support it.

It then becomes a system in which the 'real' tax paid by the wealthy can be reduced to zero in many cases, while the poor still pay the required per centage.

Is this something new to you and the Chief or have you just been pretending to now understand?

The rich will try to pay as little in taxes as possible, but they still pay the lion's share.

Regular working people try to pay as little as possible too.

Craig gave you half the answer so I'll give you the rest.

The rich will still continue to pay the lion's share because they make the lion's share of the money.

If taxation was based strictly on a per centage of income earned then the rich are getting off with not paying 'their' share. That's much more important than the 'lion's' share.

I can prove that with statistical analysis. The poor and middle class in the US are paying more than their share of the tax burden.

And that dear Ruby is the reason why your government is so corrupt and libertarians hate it so much! Ask Craig!

Yep.  They all (rich, poor and middle-class) should be paying ZERO percent of the tax burden.

With the proper (libertarian) leadership, we could eliminate the tax burden altogether!

We need to get back to socially responsible government...  We had it once.  We can have it again.

Chief, I think you are irrational right now.

If you think I'm wrong, please tell me how and I will apologize profusely. Thanks.
