They just want to be seen as Nazis but they're really just angry no good bums causing trouble on the streets. California's cops have ways to deal with that kind of riffraff.

I've already reported the Chief as being one of them. And also that he's got definite racist tendencies too.

Oh, and he's also one of the ringleaders of the group that wants to break California into three!

“Google owes conservatives answers and assurances that they are putting an end to this,” the chair of the Republican National Committee added. “Evidence is mounting that conservative voices are either being suppressed or, as it appears in this case, being falsely depicted as hateful extremists.”

Conservatives are hateful extremists though. They hate redistribution and the welfare state... and as far as extremism, the bar has moved.

A lot.

If the bar moves more, they literally will be Nazis.

This moral relativism of yours is exactly what lets government take this freedom, then that freedom, until we have lost them all.

More "progressive" re-definition of reality, no surprise there. Define a desire for economic liberty and limited government as a "thought crime", a "symptom" of Nazi thinking, and there you are, everybody except "socialists" is a Nazi.

The problem is that Nazis are National Socialists...

That can be fixed by moving the bar too. Just move the bar so that only world socialists are real socialists, and push National Socialists into the basket of deplorables with libertarians.

What should be noted is that Google is not an impartial provider of information. Google is choosing sides and trying to influence the debate.

Thanks for the compliment, but I'm not in any way a "ringleader".

I'm just someone who signed the petition like over 600,000 other Californians desperate to break free of the chokehold that leftist Sacramento lawmakers have over their consistuents.

We got our sample ballots last week...  Six new state measures (proposals)...

Five of them ARE TAX HIKES for silly, non-essential government pet projects.  Of course, we will vote NO.

ONE of them [Prop 69],   Requires that certain revenues generated by a 2017 transportation funding law be used ONLY for transportation purposes and prohibits Legislature from diverting funds for other purposes. [re-distribution]

So most people might think "Gee, In California, voters MUST PASS LAWS TO PREVENT LAWMAKERS FROM RIPPING THEM OFF AND DIVERTING THEIR TAX DOLLARS ...well, that kinda sucks."

Yes it does. That's why so many Californians are clamoring to split up the state.  The madness in Sacramento needs to end.  (I'm voting YES on Prop 69 and in November I'll vote YES to split up California.

Only six, must a be light year.  I assume three of them exist in order to spoil the ballot for the other three and they are all called the "the tax payer protection act to provide clean water and safe schools for kids an old people act of 2018."

That could be intended as sarcasm but it's hard to tell when you mention clean water and safe schools.

2018 California Prop 68:

Authorizes $4 Billion in general obligation bonds for: Parks, Water Quality, and Climate adaptation.

It's got Pork-Barrel written all over it!

It is sarcasm, they have a habit of naming propositions things that no one could possibly disagree with regardless of what the proposed law actually does. Its not atypical to see 20 or more initiatives and propositions on the ballot either and its common practice for political opponents to write alternative bills that sound very similar but act as poison pills to spoil the ballot for some other prop.  So you might find two props with a name like the safe schools act, neither of which will do anything to provide safe schools and one of which was specifically intended to prevent the other from passing.

Its democracy at its most disfunctional and an aspect of CA that I will not miss in the least.

Thanks for the explanation. I usually trust your judgment but this would be a time when I would have to know of some specific example in order to accept your description as being completely rational.

It's not because you have demonstrated a tendency to be otherwise than rational, it's because you're associated with a libertarian forum that makes everybody here suspect.

I will say, without any real knowledge of California's government, it would seem to me that they would be one of the most 'progressive' states of the lot.

And I'm saying 'progressive' as in the real meaning of the word. However, I say that with the understanding that no state has escaped corruption.

To me, that doesn't necessarily speak badly of California. Maybe the devil is in the details? It's just unfortunate that a decent discussion of the details is likely impossible.
