If anyone invited me to such a place, I'd immediately leave. I'm not going to steal from taxpayers like that. It's disgusting.

It IS disgusting.

Millennials love it, though.  The server which streams Eureka allows fans of the show to review it.

I was interested to see what others had to say about it, so I read 8 or 9 reviews.

Nothing but gushing hyperbole.  I think they fantasize about living in a secluded little town of gifted elites where everything is "free".  Unlimited equipment/funding for science experiments.  Lots of explosions happen in Eureka, but nobody ever gets hurt.  Nano-bots go rogue en masse with amusing results.

It's the ideal Socialist Utopia.

To be fair I also fantasise about living in a place out of the way where everyone is a genius, but I wouldn't steal for it.

Also, I saw the first episode a long time ago on the Sci-Fi Channel and that main character's kid is a brat, so I stopped watching.

The political ideology can't ruin a show for me, but one really awful character can. One good character can also make a show for me - I found myself totally uninterested in Sliders when they took the Professor off.

I saw a show last night on Copenhagen, Denmark by an american woman who does shows on waterfront cities of the world.

That is the real life Socialist capitol of the world. There are more bicycles than people, over 90% of the people travel to work on their biked. The total lack of fat people on the streets was almost surreal, and only about 25% of the people owns cars!

They talked about being very highly taxed but said at the same time their wages and salaries were very high to match.

And then the said that Copenhagen was known as the happiest city in the world.

Now that should be enough to make Americans puke. Loads of hamburger and french fry puke, before they drop dead of high cholesterol and plugged arteries.

You mutts, ya can't make this shit up!

Anyone who acknowledges the natural rights and property of an individual deserves (and duly gets) my respect.

Yep, that's the one.  The protagonist's daughter is a delinquent/brat/misfit.  Her (mis)adventures carry the plot throughout the series.

As long as you get to decide what their rights and property will be. Libertarians like you resemble dictators more than anything else. Dictators with no power and who are largely ignored by society. What the hell is a libertarian if not somebody who claims rights and freedoms for itself at the expense of all others?

Correct. Libertarians want everyone to live by the libertarian concept of rights, just like leftists want everyone to live by the leftist concept of rights.

As long as everyone is equal, it really makes no difference to me who decides.

This is absurd.    By definition, a Dictator is a person with TOTAL power.

dic·ta·tor
ˈdikˌtādər
noun
1.  a ruler with total power over a country, typically one who has obtained power by force.

But according to you I'm a Dictator with NO power.   Besides being a Nazi and a racist.

And you wonder why nobody on this forum takes you seriously.

That's clear enough, natural individual Rights v. made up group privileges.

You're saying it's all pretty much a wash, no matter which way we go?

Charlie Chaplin. The closest anybody has ever come to being a libertarian dictator.

AKA a dictator nobody gives a shit about. Only Charlie brought out the humour in the whole sick joke. Pseudo-libertarians took Charlie seriously.  Undecided

No. I'm saying libertarian rights are moral, and other concepts of rights are immoral.

I just don't personally care which system of rights I live under as long as everyone is equal.
