We dont post articles. You can post a link but have to write something of your own about it.
Let me know if there is a copy and paste of articles.
Thanks.

Here's an example of something I frequently do-

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-08-07/crackdown-continues-twitter-suspends-l...

It seems that the title contains enough information about the content without me repeating it...

Am I OK in doing this?

Well, I see that the shortened title doesn't contain enough information.

Here's the full title of the article-

No, that is very rude on this forum and I respectfully and regretfully say that you are frequently guilty of it.

The reason it is rude is that when another poster takes the time to explain their position on a topic, using a quote or a paraphrase from an article or just a logical analysis of common knowledge information, they want to read your response to that analysis along with any supporting information from an outside source.

Imagine if you gave a lengthy explanation as to why taxes are good and I responded:

Quote:

The discussion is over unless you are willing to read the entire article and give a response to each point in it.  That would be an incredibly lazy way for me to debate you and you would not accept it.  Even if you did take the time to do that, I could just say,

Quote:
You didn't understand the article; read it again!

Jeff, I tell you this only because you are one of the few libertarians who are both intelligent and disagree with me on many issues.  Mainly because I am an  ideological libertarian while you are a pragmatic constitutionalist libertarian.  We need to discuss and test each others positions, not act like school kids trying to "pwn" each other.

You about if I say-

I'm also left wondering what Land of Freedom really wants? I think he means that he doesn't approve of links being posted alone without some comment.
At least that's what he said.

It's being done very infrequently but I noticed that Jeff did it yesterday I think, or possibly the day before. That could be what LofF is objecting to?

I think we all want to comply with his wishes if he makes it clear what he's asking of us.

Yes, that's fine.  As long as those quote marks are not intended to indicate that you disagree in any way with the statement.  I would prefer that you quote or paraphrase what the article says, but if you don't, that's just your posting style, not rudeness.

The issue isn't with the left (Dems in the US) fearing libertarianism, it's a fear of antiwar.com's antiwar agenda.

It's nothing to get excited about, it will be the Repubs who take back the pro-war agenda soon, supposing they ever departed from it. (they didn't) They're just cornered into supporting Trump because the Dems are going to get at him because of the collusion racket he got into.

Libertarianism in it's present train wrecked state is obviously nothing for anybody to fear. When it starts to do some real work on modifying it's extremism then it can become a threat to the 1% for a start at least.

Libertarianism isn't going to be modified, Dink.  It ain't broke, so we ain't gonna fix it.   Wink

You should look for more 'socialist' political ideologies - like the Green Party.  Look at what they offer:

• heavy progressive taxes on corporations.

• Universal Basic Income  (redistribution of wealth)

• Heavy PROGRESSIVE TAXATION on the wealthy - NO Flat Tax.

This stuff is right up your alley, Dink.  ^  ^  Embrace it!

Plz stop telling libertarians we need to change our ideals.  It's delusional to think that we will.

Some is, some isn't. There's little doubt that the ones responsible for AGW have to be held responsible. That's likely going to have to be taken out of their hides via taxation.

No! I envision a future for libertarianism!

You envision complete failure of it ever becoming a viable form of government for a country.

(would you like a refund on that statement?)

I'll give it to you if it brings you to the table. Times-a-wasting Chief! November's-a- comin!

In the past, the moderator sent me private messages, but not one about this.

I suspect that the moderator has discovered that some people are cutting and pasting long dissertations that were created by someone else, and not making attribution. Plagiarism is the technical legal term I think.
