The Fallibility of the Supreme Court

And how precedents can be overturned-

https://reason.com/blog/2018/09/07/brett-kavanaugh-and-ben-sasse-discuss-ov?utm_...

It's heartening to know, and to hear people talk about it.

I think Kavanaugh might help bring some limits back to the national government.

Here's a case where the S.Ct. said something that everyone should think about-

https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/118/425/

The pertinent statement from the decision-

"An unconstitutional act is not a law; it confers no rights; it imposes no duties; it affords no protection; it creates no office; it is in legal contemplation as inoperative as though it had never been passed.'

This isn't really helpful, since "progressives" reflexively believe one of their own and just as reflexively disbelieve anyone they see as a threat to their agenda, but it's interesting anyway-

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2018/09/professor_accusing_kavanaugh_is_rad...

In a nutshell, a radical SJW comes forward 35 years after high school to claim that Kavanaugh at the age of 17 was a sexual predator... Something that no one else seems to have noticed.

Many people suspected something like this would surface.

I don't think it should have any impact on his confirmation.

Dems just want to tarnish his record like they did with Thomas.

The Democratic Socialists have declared war Chief...

So far they don't have much if any support.

And they still have to fight off the Social Democrats, and the Democrats and the pure Socialists and the Communists and the Anarchists and the Georgists etc.

I just hope they can settle their internal Party power struggle by democratic means. Smiley

Edit: On second thought, it would be better if they kept the warlike behavior within their Party.

I hope the Democrats NEVER settle their internal Party power struggle.

I hope it worsens to a point where the Party completely collapses.

I wish the same fate for the GOP.   I hope both miserable Parties collapse!

Hmmm....

That's exactly what the Democratic Socialists are trying to do, destroy the TwoParties and seize power!

You don't really think that's a good idea do you?

Edit: Of course they are also trying to discredit and marginalize libertarians of all sorts (except the anarchist wing, who are being encouraged).

Democratic Socialists know how to destroy things and bring things down and seize power, but that's all.

History proves it.

Exactly.  They are harmless, delusional moonbats.

Let them think they will seize power.  As long as they're trying to bring down the 2-Parties, they are my allies as far as I'm concerned.

Delusional yes, harmless no.

They are the exact opposite of harmless, they are delusional zealots, and they are almost always ignorant underneath their zealotry.

If you think having Democratic Socialists in charge of your life is a good idea, hire one on your own to tell you what to do and make you pay for being told what to do.

Don't try to empower the Democratic Socialists you hire to run your life to interfere with my life, or ask me to pay for them.

I don't want them around and won't listen to them from afar.

If you pay Income Tax, you are supporting Democratic Socialists.

Sorry.   It's reality.
