From libertarian points of view, I don't see this is as a problem.

I would opt in.

Its OK for a private business to use personal SESAME data algorithms when determining rates for their services.

For example,  an airline might charge a higher airfare to person with low SESAME score.  If the customer doesn't agree to the higher airfare, then he/she can simply choose to fly with an airline which doesn't use SESAME data. (Free Market)

It's NOT OK for the government to use SESAME scores to determine income tax rates, entitlement or voting eligibility for individual citizens.

The article says it's optional. It's just that it's hard to opt out because most private business of course wants to do biz with those they can trust.

We need to remember that "the grid" no longer belong to governments. The grid belong to free market now.

That's fine if they want to.  I'll be happy to swoop in and take the business they foolishly reject.    Smiley

You're convinced they are fools who are rejecting good customers?

Edit: What's a SESAME score?

Yes, any business that rejects potential customers/clients based on an arbitrary social score would be foolish to do so.

I would hope that ALL of my competitors would be so foolish!

I want this to be their motto:

Our business serves ONLY star-bellied sneetches.   All sneetches born without stars - go to SkyChief's business...  He happily serves anyone!

All the more business for me!       Smiley
Oh. How does it work/not work?

What is a SESAME score?

Obviously you think it doesn't work, but why do you think that?
