French President Emmanuel Macron has scrapped a fuel tax rise amid fears of new violence, after weeks of nationwide protests and the worst rioting in Paris in decades.

French Prez Macron is preparing to address the nation today (monday) following a 4th weekend of violent protests by "Yellow Vest" protesters.

135,000 yellow-vest protesters took to the streets on Sunday, smashing glass storefronts, overturning cars, and setting fires.  Nearly 2,000 arrests were made and the violence left 264 people wounded, including 39 police officers.

France’s retail federation said stores had lost about $1 billion of pre-Christmas sales since the rioting began.

Socialism isn't working very well in Venezuela.  Not working in France, either.   Maybe they're just doing it wrong?

Real French citizens explain their frustration:

Claude Rigolet's income has dropped by almost 20% since 2000, and has stopped him from eating out or going on holiday in the summer.

"Everything is more expensive," the retiree from Reims says. "Taxes are going up - housing, heating costs, cars. Everything is going up."

Natacha Perchat agrees. The fuel tax was "the straw that broke the camel's back".

"They
[the government] are hitting the little people hard. My husband works for a transport company. We're not wealthy. We're already in the red at the beginning of the month."

"Mid-month we have to use gift vouchers for our children to buy food. This can't go on. We don't live, we survive. It's a scandal."

Delphine Notelet, earns €1200 a month after tax for her job caring for the elderly.

After bills, that leaves her with €50 a week. She wants a better life for children, who can see the difficulties for themselves.

"Emmanuel Macron didn't want to listen to us?  We're proving to him that we are not puppets swallowed under an avalanche of taxes, but citizens."

The question on my mind is: Where is it all going? The government parasites tend to ease people into their new, ever-lowering standard of living. Why the sudden overload of less?

This moral relativism of yours is exactly what lets government take this freedom, then that freedom, until we have lost them all.

It happens. People are creative and resilient, to a point. When the sum of too much taxation and too much regulation and too many unproductive people (think of government "workers) reaches a point where the productive economy is overwhelmed, things can go bad very quickly. Not all that long ago, Venezuela was considered a socialist paradise...

Can it be that people just don't understand what's really best for them?

Violent protests in Paris continued today as Yellow Vest protesters resumed rallies across France for the 8th straight week.

Protesters demanded the resignation of French president Emmanuel Macron, and the end of globalist policy for France.

Yet more fires and violence today.

Yellow Vest demonstrators use forklift to smash the tall gates of Benjamin Griveaux's  (Secretary of State) courtyard. He was urgently evacuated.

"It's not me that was attacked, it's the Republic" and "the House of France," claimed Griveaux.

its odd how the MSM is so tight-lipped about the mayhem in Paris.   Gag order by the deep state, perhaps?
