It's a silly idea but if you can get parents to pay you to put their 1st graders to work, go for it.

Check the child labor laws in your state

This is what I meant in the other thread, by the way. This is one of the diversions you use, so you never have to lose an argument.

When you have an idea, no one else wins by just going, "Lol that's illegal."

Being a libertarian forum, everyone else is already on the page that we're discussing what policy should be, not what it is.

No doubt you're proud of yourself for winning every argument, but I don't think you understand that it's only because others choose not to use your tactics. I could have said the same thing when you said only the productive should be allowed to vote. I chose not to because I want an actual discussion, not a chicanery and sophistry contest.

This moral relativism of yours is exactly what lets government take this freedom, then that freedom, until we have lost them all.

As a special educator, I have to take up for a person with a disability.  People on the AU spectrum have a very difficult time processing a question about a hypothetical situation.  You show a kid a picture of a cat and say, "if this cat were white, would it be easier to see in the dark?"  They will respond, "No, because that cat is black."

Right, like when he said,

Tell him that if people didn't pay so much in taxes, the average American could afford private school and he would say, "no, because the average American's take-home pay is much too low to afford private school!"

One thing I've learned as a near-genius special educators is that there's no sense beating your head against the wall when dealing with a person with a disability.  Particularly autism.

I prefer to amuse myself by ridiculing him, which of course I would never do with the au folks I see professionally.

Probably because I don't propose illegal actions? Kiss

I'm flattered by your praise, but as I've said, I've never had an original idea, I just expound on the ideas of classical liberals, so it's to them that the credit for winning every argument must go. Smiley

It should be noted that these local community public schools were paid for by the parents of the children that would attend them.

These schools were NOT funded by property (or any other) taxes.

Jeff wrote on Dec 21st, 2018 at 5:51pm:
That's fine with me, as long as they gave any child in the community who wanted to learn a chance to do it.

Black children in the slave states were excluded weren't they?

And sometimes black children were excluded in free states. Cry

Yes, all a part of the United States' shameful history of racism.

But, since you are a libertarian, I'm sure you would not support any use of force against a community that did not allow black children to attend its public school.

Quote:
Private and public schools both have past sins to atone for.

What sins do private schools have to atone for.

Quote:
One thing we know for sure, parental control is necessary.

Then let them have control over whether they give money to the public schools or not.  Unless, you really mean "voter control" not "parental control?"

Only some of the states Sack.

People from the majority of states were willing to fight to end slavery, even though they didn't want black people to move into their neighborhoods after the war.
