Sociopaths That (We) Voters Elect To Represent Us

1) Sociopaths completely lack a conscience or any capacity for real regret about hurting people. Although they pretend the opposite.

2) Sociopaths put their own desires and wants on a totally different level from those of other people. Their wants are incommensurate. They truly believe their ends justify their means. Although they pretend the opposite.

3) Sociopaths consider themselves superior to everyone else, because they aren’t burdened by the emotions and ethics others have – they’re above all that. They’re arrogant. Although they pretend the opposite.

4) Sociopaths never accept the slightest responsibility for anything that goes wrong, even though they’re responsible for almost everything that goes wrong. You’ll never hear a sincere apology from them.

5) Sociopaths have a lopsided notion of property rights. What’s theirs is theirs, and what’s yours is theirs too. They therefore defend currency inflation and taxation as good things.

6) Sociopaths often pick the wrong target to attack. If they lose their wallet, they kick the dog. If 16 Saudis fly planes into buildings, they attack Afghanistan.

7) Sociopaths traffic in disturbing news, they love to pass on destructive rumors, and they’ll falsify information to damage others.

I actually test positive for both sociopathy and severe narcissism.

Still... this...

...describes almost everyone except me.

This is how we get, "Taxation is okay, buuuuut only if it pays for these specific things I think are good ideas, like public school. Other uses of taxation are tyranny you tyrant!"

I might actually be a sociopath, but it's my ego driving me to be fair.

If my intellect is worth so little that I must jockey for artificial advantages just to get along, then obviously it's worth less than nothing, and I don't believe that, so I'm not going to pull any Jeff-ery.

This moral relativism of yours is exactly what lets government take this freedom, then that freedom, until we have lost them all.

Ha ha.

Imagining that you are the only entity that respects other people's property rights is a symptom of your sociopathy.

You should be helping the Sack convince some town that they should stop taxing property within the town and spending the money on their schools. Sacks contention is that everyone hates taxes, that taxes are imposed unjustly by unjust governments and that local public schools and local police are a socialist plot to destroy liberty, so it should be easy to convince people to have their local governments stop taxing property.

Edit: Speaking of electing tyrants, this has helped Kalifornia do it-

People only want taxes to pay for the things they want.  They don't want to be taxed for the things they don't want.

I'm not seeing an insight there ...

I don't know if humoring drunks is honorable or not.  It can be funny though as long as you realize what you're doing

I forgot to mention that, as you know, the TwoParties have rigged the electoral system. It seems likely to me that these sociopaths wouldn't get elected otherwise.

Excellent article by Doug Casey, thanks.

This was a little disturbing:

"Libertarians, who tend to be more intelligent, better informed, and very definitely more independent than average, are going to be in a touchy situation as the crisis deepens. As such, they’ll be seen as unreliable, even traitors."

Both my republican AND dem friends scorned me for being glad that Trump pulled US troops out Syria.

They want US to be involved in foreign civil wars?   Logic says yes.   My friends are sociopaths.   Cry

Yes, the two parties.  Tweedledee and Tweedledum.  They never understand when I point out that when you remove the rhetoric, there's no real difference between them.  Republicans spend like Democrats, Democrats are as moralistic as Republicans, and they both love war.

I supported the wars back in the 80s and early 90s believing we were making the world better.  It was finally realizing that we were not accomplishing anything, just fighting in endless wars that made me start changing my views in the 90s and I left the Republican party
