Even if we're not considering anarachy, less than 1% of the country votes libertarian, supposedly.
They can't get on the ballot, they don't get all the free media advertising the TwoParty candidates get, "they can't win, so you are wasting your vote and allowing Hillary to be elected", and the Libertarian Party insists on sounding like libertine anarchists. When people hear about libertarians in the news, they are presented as dangerous deluded radicals who are greedy and selfish and want children to starve in the streets.

Most libertarians want a limited government that protects everyone's rights equally.

Who does such a government not suit?

People who want to use the power of government to benefit themselves.

People who want to use the power of government to force people into becoming something that they are not, but that is seen as "better".

People who want to change society (or the world) into something it is not, but which they think will be "better"... In short, "progressives" of all sorts.

People who want to take the wealth of others and spend it as they see fit, such as public schools.

Are you talking about individuals?

The reality is, as you know, that communities decided to permit their governments to tax property in the community in order to pay for government services they wanted, and lots and lots of them wanted their tax money to go to public schools.

Almost all of them (plural) decided to allow any child in the community to attend school, and often even required that your children go to school. Shocked

Of course in an agrarian economy, farmers are motivated to keep their children out of school so they can work on the farm, and, in industrializing economies, families are often motivated to keep their children out of school so they can work, just like the farm kids, to help support the family.

It was admittedly a progressive impulse to try to make sure that all children had an opportunity to become at least basically educated, but that doesn't mean it's not a good idea. I think it was and is.

So? There's nothing stopping any of them from writing in their candidate.

If you're unhappy with the results of stupid people being deceived and voting accordingly, support only people with IQs as high as mine being allowed to vote. Good luck, lol.

This moral relativism of yours is exactly what lets government take this freedom, then that freedom, until we have lost them all.

It's funny how you consider a "real libertarian" to be your twisted, extremist, fantasy portrayal of libertarians.

Most libertarians are small government libertarians.  But you just look for virtually extreme pacifist anarchists.

You have the double fantasy there, Yoko.  You're in a fantasy world looking for fantasy believers so you can declare them real
