When it comes to fund raising, they claim the governments contribution to their budget is tine but every other conversation they seem to say its vital to their operations.

The government shut down is a loser for the Dems and Progressives it just show the rest of us how little it effects us in our daily lives.   Since the rest of us don't the same sort of job guarantee that government employees have, theirs really not much sympathy out there for them.
Wait til the food stamp money runs out...

I wouldn't be surprised if a terrorist gets through TSA "security" (which misses 95% of the weapons and bombs smuggled onto airplanes in tests Angry), and Trump is blamed for the ensuing disaster.

The Western world is in Wonderland when it comes to government.

It's had some serious effects for some individuals, but just wait, it's effects might get more serious and widespread when the food stamp money runs out.

I bet they'll find more somewhere... Why not just have the fed create some? Cheesy

Crazy as that sounds to normal people, that is exactly the way congress and the president decided that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau would be funded.  It uses no tax dollars and no borrowed money.  It literally gets money by  simply requesting that the Fed print them some.

The not-at-all-secret-but-actually-bragged-about purpose for allowing them to be funded that way is to prevent congressional oversight, which supporters of that harebrained idea call "political interference."

That's right.  Taxing and borrowing require congressional approval, but the CFPB is allowed to spend printed money with the ink still wet.  Of course, it is virtual printed money with the virtual ink still wet, but the result is the same:  a little wealth is taken from every single existing dollar and spread among however many dollars the CFPB states that it "needs."

Snarky no more!

It's what "progressives" have brought us to, and what the radical Democratic Socialist wing of the "progressives" want to expand and intensify. Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked
