If cats were fungible, this would be different. If you swap my cat for a transporter duplicate cat, I argue that this is not theft, because they are the same cat (no exchange was made).
An exchange was made, your cat was exchanged for an exact duplicate of your cat. I gave you your cat in exchange for your cat. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Again, I fleshed out this scenario in an earlier post. The nitty-gritty is that I may demand the original, but if there's no way to know which is the original, you can't accuse someone of theft if they gave me the wrong one.

Why do you (and all libertarians) have so much trouble answering a very basic question?

In the original scenario, if something besides money was taken, was that theft?

This moral relativism of yours is exactly what lets government take this freedom, then that freedom, until we have lost them all.

Your questions? Because they are bizarre and never simple and straightforward.

You know what, if anything, was taken beyond the exchange of money. You decide if it was theft or not. Nobody else knows whether anything else was taken or not and what it might have been. Cheesy

What were the circumstance if whatever it was was taken?

Let's say after I exchanged my five for five ones out of the tip jar, I took a bag of chips home with me, after I paid for them. Was that theft? Something was taken? Isn't taking things theft?

It's a very straightforward question. If something else was taken, besides money, was that theft?

You can't answer because you need to evaluate on a case-by-case basis. There are no principles that govern libertarian philosophy beyond favouring what you like, and calling it aggression when you don't favour something.

Yes. Tell me what was taken and describe the circumstances,

Are you saying yes, if something other than money was taken, that would be theft?

I have to make sure with you, because you're so dishonest.

The principle is, theft is wrong. It predates even liberal philosophy.

So answer the question. In the original scenario, if something besides money was taken, was that theft?

You think stealing some things is theft, but stealing other things is not?

Will you make a list of things that can be taken without it being theft? Thanks.

Answer the question.

You're not going to answer mine, so screw it. I asked you an incredibly simple question, and like all libertarians, you can't answer unless it's case-by-case. You can't say stealing is wrong, period, in a given situation without knowing what was stolen.
