Trump - Don't sign it!

I don't want Trump to fight for the wall, I want the wall.  0 points for effort.  If Republicans did for the wall what Democrats did to get Obamacare, we'd have a wall by now.  If you recall.

- They voted in the Senate in the brief period they had 60 votes
- When Kennedy died, Scott Brown (a Republican) was to replace him and he vowed to vote to filibuster Obamacare, so
- Democrats delayed his swearing in
- Voted a shame through the House just to get it to conference
- Changed the conference rules to allow them to change the bill to what they want
- Voted it through with majority vote.

I want that.  I didn't vote for Trump the first time, but I thought up until now we'd get the wall and I'd vote for his re-election.  Now we're in his third year and no wall and we aren't on a path to one.

Read my lips, Donald Trump.  Build the wall.  Stop talking about it.  Build it.

Criminals, drug cartels, illegal aliens are burying us in crime and poor, uneducated illegal aliens are burying us in medical, welfare and educational costs.  We need the best of the rest of the world, not the worst

Never gonna happen.  There will never be an effective barrier that blocks illegal immigrants.  To many people profit from them.  Trump - a long-time profiteer of illegal alien labor - serves the vital role of pretending not to want them, just as the Democrats perform the vital role of pretending to want them to be full-fledged citizens.

The "compromise" as always is exactly what the ruling class wants: an endless supply of workers with the physical and mental capacities of human beings but lacking the protections and benefits afforded citizens.

I always like how Democrats, who go to any length to enable open borders, always blame illegal immigration and not wanting a wall on the Republicans.  Yeah, troll, yeah ...

BTW, there are some businesses that want illegal immigration, but most of us don't.  This is more of your troll ignorance that if one business wants something we all are guilty

Dems aren't actually fighting for open borders. They like having a brown underclass to fight for.  With truly open borders, that would go away.

As to the op. Jeff is correct, illegal immigrants are not citizens therefore not second class citizens.  No nation/state has existed that didn't have non-citizen visitors.

No society has existed with out some form of social stratification since our ancestors banded together in groups larger than the hunter gatherer troops similar in size to a Chimp troupe.  So, still no, not even in the us though officially we do not have legally enforced second class citizen.  There are lots of more or less formal ways in which some folks have it easier than others.

Democrats are much better at delivering what their base wants.  Republicans count on their base to vote for them based on promises, which they have no intention of keeping.

We need libertarian elected officials who are just as dedicated to actually providing the freedom their base demands.

Spot on.   Trump is scrambling to move the goal-posts.   He claims that 8 or 9 miles of NEW wall have been built since he took office (which is true). He hopes that's enough.

It isn't.  Half his base will jump ship and he will lose to Pocahontas or 'creepy' Uncle Joe in 2020.

That's a good reason to not vote for them. Their base is composed of fools who think "government money" will pay for everything and anything because it's like Manna from Heaven, and that God will increase the supply of Manna if they only eliminate the system of economic liberty they think of as "evil capitalism".

Not that I think crony capitalism is much better than "real" socialism, but neither has anything to do with economic liberty.

His base is made up of populist nationalists as far as I can tell... I predict they'll abandon The Donald for Ocasio, who will turn out to be a national socialist rather than the international socialist she's pretending to be.

Ocasio won't be running in 2020.  She's a complete nut case - very few people take her seriously. The DNC would do everything in their power to prevent her nomination.

Look what they to poor Bernie in 2016!!
