Over 53 individuals have filed with the Federal Election Commission to seek the Libertarian nomination for President!  But only a handful are serious contenders to be the LNC nominee:

Arvin Vohra

Adam Kokesh

Max Abramson

Lincoln Chafee

Benjamin Leder

John McAfee has not filed with the Federal Election Commission, so you'll need to to write-in McAfee.

McAfee defended Communist revolutionary Che Guevara on Twitter, which didn't resonate well with many libertarians who otherwise supported him.
I'll write in my friend if that's all the better they can do.

These libertarian candidates are passionate and powerful speakers.   They use logic and common sense to guide their political ideology, and this makes them powerful.

Dems and pubs just care about getting votes, so they just say what they think people want to hear.  Weak.

We often hear accounts of democrats and republicans becoming libertarians.

I've never heard an account of a libertarian becoming a democrat or a republican.

And please don't argue that Ron Paul became a republican - he didn't.  He only ran as a republican so he would have a podium on the GOP debate stage.

What Democrats have become Libertarians in recent history?

Joseph P. Stallcop formerly New Hampshire House of Representatives. He was first elected to Congress in 2016 as a Democrat. In May 2017, Stallcop switched his party affiliation to Libertarian.

Governments will always devise ways to deprive an honest man of his money or property, and claim that it's legal.

Lincoln Chaffee I think.

He's had an interesting life, politically.

It's hard to keep up with him... Perhaps he's just another delusional dreamer.

See, Jeff.  This is why you come off looking stupid so often.  You read one sentence of a lengthy post and blurt out in response to it.  The name the big guy meant was Dan Taxation is Theft Berman, which does indicate an understanding of at least one principle of libertarianism.

You know, like how you would vote for a person who changed his name to Bill Taxes are More Important than Property Rights or Anything Else Wilson.

Dr. Paul was the best spoken Libertarian of all time and he got no media respect.

It's like how do you convince people that we need to abolish the Fed when the average person doesn't know what the Fed is and just wants to here promises for this and that without caring about the price tag or who is going to pay for it?  Or how about bringing the troops back home when the average American doesn't know where the troops are no can they even point out where the Middle East is on the map?

Forget it.  You have politicians like Cortez who don't even know shit about anything so what can you expect of the general public?

We all need to bury our gold like what the Chief is doing, really.

He's a rare guy.  He cited "civil libertarian."  Democrats claim all the time to be "civil libertarian," which is a total lie.  They only claim that for Democrat Partisan issues.  Then they support the IRS and war on drugs that obliterate civil libertarianism.  It's nice to see there was one Democrat out there who meant it.

Though that you had to go to the NH House of Representatives doesn't contradict my point how rare it is.

You would think it's rare since the Democrat Party is the complete opposite of libertarian.  There are lots of fiscal Republicans out there who are moderate on social issues and think fiscal issues are more important.  That's a far easier hop than an authoritarian leftist jumping to freedom
