You are criminally liable for any sickness or death that your mislabeled product caused.

That's a lot clearer. But let's say it was labeled as pig shit and someone ate it, but it was actually cow shit, which they were allergic to, and they suffered sickness.

Are you saying that the company is in the clear as long as they put "DON'T EAT IT" on the box? Or even that since it was fertiliser, the fact that it oughtn't be eaten is pretty obvious?

The jury won't take long to deliberate on your intent of malice.

Are you relying on a jury to make the obviously right decision even if someone uses the letter of the law in their favour?

Being a libertarian, I don't give it much thought, really.. . to me, libertarian principles are just common sense.   I don't know why so many people seem to struggle with libertarian ideals.   On other forums, libertarians are loathed and mocked.

Anyone who likes to mock libertarians should come here and see how intellectually honest you and Little Big Man are, even though the rest of the site doesn't consider you libertarians and likes to write you off as anarchists.

This moral relativism of yours is exactly what lets government take this freedom, then that freedom, until we have lost them all.

Jeff, why do some climate studiers say there's a humongous hole in ozone layer over Antarctica because of climate change? You'd think there'd be a humongous hole in ozone layer over Houston or Beijing because there's way more air pollution in sky above Houston or in sky above Beijing than in sky above Antarctica?

Either because hey are dolts, or they are dishonest.

Obviously you don't think a box of shit has to be labeled "Not for human consumption", but our governments probably do. Cheesy

As long as it's clearly labeled as shit, the jury won't have any problems. Smiley

It's not about what I think. It's about how this will work in Skychief's world.

For the ten billionth time I do not care how law works in the real world and I'm not here to argue US law. I am here to discuss what ought to be, not what is.

The Chief lives in a fantasy world too? Is it the same one you live in?

Neither Oppo nor I live in a fantasy world, Jeff.

We are discussing libertarian ideals.  If you're unclear on what ideals are, heres the definition:

a standard of perfection; a principle to be aimed at.

Governments will always devise ways to deprive an honest man of his money or property, and claim that it's legal.

The worm still hasn't figured out what libertarian ideals are...

Anyway, classical liberals are talking about practical ways to approach actualized libertarian ideals in the real world.

"What if pigs flew and laid eggs" scenarios aren't much help for that.

Neither are seasteading fantasies.
