That sounds like a great opportunity for a class action lawsuit on behalf of all the people condemned to real prisons.

It looks like a slam dunk to me... Lots of lawyers can get rich, and regular prisons will be required, by a SCOTUS decision, to all become country club prisons.

You should copyright that idea Chief! Smiley Smiley Smiley
But what about this? This is the idea that could make you really rich!

Edit: I'm going to invest in the privately operated country club prison industrial complex, POCCPIC...

As long as they can draw a breath, they are still very influential.

They're operating under the radar now.  But they're still there.
Who do you think is listening to them? They have some magic power to give orders to the Deep State? Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Governments will always devise ways to deprive an honest man of his money or property, and claim that it's legal.

I'd have to try to find the right sort of lawyer... You do it. Smiley

Edit: My first inclination was to contact the Institute for Justice, but I bet the NAACP would be more interested in the idea.

I'll give the idea away for free, out of a sense of justice. Smiley

Why? Has Hillary released a re-edited version of It Takes a Village?

Is it selling well? Who's buying it this time? The Unions again?

This from the person who says it takes a  village to educate a child.

You couldn't possibly be talking about me... What I say is it takes parents, and friends, and teachers, and neighbors, and sometimes the Judge in Juvenile Court. Grin

Most of the village will always be off doing other things that are more important to them. That's OK. One parent and a few good teachers can get the ball rolling. A good friend or two, and a few good neighbors... That's plenty to get a child started on their education.

If you made it the responsibility of the entire village, it wouldn't work. When something is everyone's responsibility, everyone assumes someone else will do it.

Edit: That's why voluntary taxation won't work also. Everybody assumes that other people will donate enough, so they don't have to.

But, they'll be paying the taxes, without which you claim children will be uneducated illiterates roaming the streets committing crimes.

Plus taxes from the whole village.

So, the village should just pay the taxes and keep their mouths shut about what it done with the money?

I guess they'd be stuck paying for their own kids' educations.

Imagine that!

So the villagers cannot be trusted to do the right thing with the money they earn and the wealth they create?  That is the unstated premise of every single argument for taxes.

Not all of them...

Anyway, I'm more worried about children who want an education not being able to get one, and I know that's a problem with huge numbers of children in our public education "system", especially in the "progressive" big city ghettos.

That's two things the government needs to stop doing, creating and supporting ghettos, and messing with education.

If we're in a Medieval village again, the villagers pay far too many taxes to the Lord, and the King, to be able to afford even shoes, much less an education at Oxford for their kids. Cry Cry Cry
