Are you arguing in favor of mandatory vaccination?

Will you be telling us anytime soon, whose rights the state of Louisiana is protecting by arresting the fake doctor's note lady?
I've said before, states have police powers granted to them to act to preserve the public health and safety, and yes, I think mandating vaccinations is a good use of that power.

The arrest of that woman protects the idea that the laws must be equally applied, and it also protects the people of Louisiana in general by giving notice to other public officials that creating false public records will be punished.

You didn't answer my question_ Which childhood diseases would you like to see make a comeback?

Interesting.

What if a parent cannot afford vaccinations?

Your premise is that if I don't want to be forced to inject chemicals into my children on threat of imprisonment, I must want childhood diseases to make a comeback?

If I don't want to be forced to inject vitamins into my children does that mean I want scurvy and rickets to make a comeback?  If I don't want to inject Depo-Provera into my daughters, I must want teenage pregnancy to rise?

Is that really your logic, Jeff, or have you started trolling?

Not giving your children vaccinations for preventable, deadly diseases is morally child abuse and you're a complete shit head for doing it.

But no, the government does not have the legitimate authority to force you to do it.  In the end, deciding that government is the final arbiter of what's good for our children is a far worse solution with far more catastrophic consequences than not taking vaccinations.

Then again, in real life, you're a socialist, Don.  You are completely in favor of government making our choices for us.  Let's not forget that you're just trolling right now

Would they be the same parents who can't afford food and clothing and housing?

Ha ha with "the threat of imprisonment" shit.

But yes, childhood diseases are making a comeback, and it's because people aren't vaccinating their children.

You seem to think your right to hold ignorant and uninformed opinions about the relative safety of vaccines trumps the right of children to be protected from often dangerous childhood diseases, some of which also affect adults...

So, which childhood diseases would you like to see  make a comeback?

State governments currently do have that power. The people who created state governments thought that they could be useful in making their states safe places to live, so they granted them general police powers, including the authority to legislate on issues of public health and safety. Local governments are also granted such powers.

If you think those powers should be removed, you'll have to have a pretty good alternative plan... Do you?

That last is the best example of statist thought I have seen.

People who advocate for increases state powers have the burden to show that the benefits outweigh the obvious downside.

Name all the states that people created expecting them to force parents to vaccinate their children.

If you think prison time for refusing to vaccinate your child is an absurd idea, what penalty do you suggest?

Or they could be parents who can afford food, clothing, and housing, but for whom paying for vaccinations would break the budget.

Should I save time and just throw this question on the huge pile of questions you are afraid to answer?

I'm not in favor of increasing any powers.

If you don't want your state to have any police powers, who will enforce the laws? What will you do when you neighbor pipes his raw sewage into his backyard, or starts a chemical waste dump on the property adjoining yours? Or sends his plague infected child out to play in the neighborhood, or to the private school where your children also go?
