Let me ask you and Jeff about this:
Not until you tell me you looked through the index.

Did you find anything at all of interest to you?

Tell us what. Please. Thank you. Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

I did look through it.  And it is all very interesting.  But it is really old school to a person contemplating a true libertarian government.  It is like when no-limit hold ‘em supplanted limit hold ‘em.  Limit hold ‘em was a little better a game than stud, which was a little better than draw.  Better as far as being very math driven and very psychology driven.  But no-limit hold ‘em is a far different game from limit than limit hold ‘em is from stud and draw.  Some of the great poker minds like Sklansky were left behind and their writings are interesting, but not really relevant.

The ideas of the founders were better than those of the “free” British under their monarchy whose ideas were better than the ones who wrote the manga carta which were better than those who believed in the Devine right of Kings.  But real libertarianism is a quantum leap from the representative democracy/constitutional republic ideas of the founders.

So, what do you think about one player being able to refuse to chop the pot?  Time for the others to join up and force the greedy bastard?

All very interesting, but not interesting enough to read any of it, right?

Shoot him in the belly from under the table?

I think I saw that more than once in a cowboy show.

I don't really know the rules...

Nobody found any interesting topics at all in Story's Commentaries? That's rather extraordinary!

I thought things like this were of interest to all libertarians:

§ 206. These minute details have been given, not merely, because they present an historical view of the actual and slow progress towards independence; but because they give rise to several very important considerations respecting the political rights and sovereignty of the several colonies, and of the union, which was thus spontaneously formed by the people of the united colonies.

It was interesting enough to read it when I was in high school.  So I read it.  In high school.

Maybe not that exact thing from Mr. Story, but the federalist papers the other commentaries - including arguments against the new constitution - along with that French dude whose name escapes me that wrote about Democracy in America.  Yes, that laid the foundation of my interest in freedom, which seemed to be best achieved by a representative republic.  But, as I said, libertarianism moves beyond that.

You are kind of like a twelve year old whose cute older cousin teaches him how to kiss a girl and he starts babbling to his older brother about how great it is.   His bro will be like, ‘been there, little dude.”

Edited:
de Tocqueville.

So you claim to have read Story's commentaries, except that you didn't. Tsk tsk.
