I am not asking if it is illegal I know it is I am asking if libertarians think I should be allowed to sell or give away the food is bought by my EBT card or if I have to eat it all.

Yes. I think it's more moral to give it away. Don't trade it for drugs or cool shoes.

I can only speak for myself but on a sliding scale of most ethical to least.

Get it and give it away.
Don't get EBT
Eat some and give some away.
Use it only for personal food supplies.
Give some away, sell some, eat some.
Sell some or all of the food.

Probably you shouldn't sell it but its not something I'd be all that critical of.

Especially if he needed some cool shoes. Smiley

Isn't an EBT card electronic access to the treasury?

Not taking more than you need out of the treasury means there is more in the treasury for others who need it...  I nominate that for the most moral action in this situation.

I don't know about now but in the past when they were actually food stamps instead of a credit card, you could buy anything you wanted with them.  They had illegal food stamp rackets all over the country.  You could pay whores with food stamps too.

They had to have an inside guy at the super markets

Indy seems to know how to sell his EBT card... Let's ask him how it's done nowadays...

Indy?

Things had to be rung up on the register by hand at the time. That made it easy to cheat.

the most ethical is for you to buy the EBT cards and give them more than the card's value.

I don't see whatever you do with it as being more or less moral than the system we have now

Why not just give them the extra money and not buy the card?

That way you won't break any laws... And you won't get scammed and buy an empty card either.
