If the 2nd Amendment in its current form isn't vague, then why does everyone disagree on its meaning, hmmmmm?

They want to disarm the American people. Are you dense?

You didn't say they could shoot them or that they had to be functional.

Check and mate.
It's incredibly simple jerkwad...

Definition of firearm

: a weapon from which a shot is discharged by gunpowder —usually used of small arms

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/firearm

If they don't fulfill that function, they are not arms.

This is simple too:

Definition of arm (Entry 3 of 5)
1a : a means (such as a weapon) of offense or defense especially : firearm

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/arm

The right mentioned is a right to keep and bear arms, not to be allowed to have non-functioning replicas or spiked cannons.

You already proved that your definitions don't hold water against master debaters since a tiger would qualify as an arm - a means of defence - and libertarians have proven that I cannot have one.

A shot. One. So look, you're only allowed to have a gun that shoots a single bullet and then becomes non-functional.

This moral relativism of yours is exactly what lets government take this freedom, then that freedom, until we have lost them all.

Good point. Can they be trained to do that, and trusted? A dog would be a better choice.

lizard, your mind is so limited, and it always seem to run on the same circular narrow path.

It could be that brain defect we were discussing earlier...

Not quite.   But nice try.

Don't need to specify whether the firearms are functional.  My new amendment prohibits lawmakers from passing or enacting ANY infringements.

Private institutions can prohibit firearms on their premises or buildings.  They can even prohibit Police from entering while armed!  (except when an officer is on a trouble call).

Governments will always devise ways to deprive an honest man of his money or property, and claim that it's legal.

It really doesn't. They will infringe and pretend the definition allows it.

Clause #2 will fix this.

Any Lawmaker who proposes ANY infringements on this Right shall be tried, found guilty of Treason, and executed by firing squad on the steps of the Capitol building within twenty four (24) hours of conviction.

I forgot to include Clause #2 earlier.

Here is clause 1 & 2 as they should appear:

Each individual's Right to buy, sell, transfer, possess, and carry firearms and ammunition shall not be infringed IN ANY WAY.

Any Lawmaker who proposes ANY infringements on this Right shall be tried, found guilty of Treason, and executed by firing squad on the steps of the Capitol building within twenty four (24) hours of conviction.

It's very specific, and is sure to discourage even the brightest and most ambitious gun-grabbers from proposing gun-control measures.

And you're ripping off my idea.

...Which of course you ought to do, because it's a splendid idea.

Actually if you reduce my posts to logical necessities about what works and what doesn't, I'm arguing for less of what Burns aptly describes as law-nibbling, and more actual rebellions.

We could have a nice broad generalisation about people who muck up the Constitution enshrined in the Constitution itself. Define them as traitors and declare open season.

I'll be having the left testicle and right eyeball off every lawmaker you shoot. IP and all that.

Chief,

Ya keep going on and on about guns and ammo.  I told you that there are much deadlier technologies today.  This ain't no 1776 no more.  If I wanted, I could probably hack this forum and get your IP and then take you would with a drone from anywhere in the world and it won't be traced to me.

The government is very scared of hackers and silicon valley guys because they know that these guys have the technology to evade, elude and overthrow them.

You think your gun can beat my computer and my drone Chief?
