The Return to Normalcy

I know, "normal" is one of those unconstitutionally vague terms, but, everybody uses in everyday life, so it must mean something...

What might it mean in the context of government?

https://reason.com/2020/01/06/the-new-normal-and-the-prospects-for-a-post-politi...

My favorite quote:

"America's present need," Harding declared, "is not heroics but healing; not nostrums but normalcy; not revolution but restoration; not agitation but adjustment; not surgery but serenity; not the dramatic but the dispassionate; not experiment but equipoise; not submergence in internationality but sustainment in triumphant nationality."

Students of history will recall that his term ended not in equipoise but in a wave of scandal and an untimely death."

First of all, you saying that is just laughable.

But also I did.  Are you saying it's time to get over your TDS?  Going to normal starts there.  As long as people like you and the Democrats are so deranged, there is no path to normal

It’s a good question.

Historically in this country we have not had a single normalcy but a string new normals.

Politically, new normals develop either by the people changing and inducing government to change or government changing and inducing the people to change.

For better or worse, government has changed us much more effectively than we have changed government.

Abortion rights, gay marriage rights, our perpetual wars in the ME, are all things government pushed on us that we would never have chosen but now accept as normal.

You didn't say what the article you posted was about, so of course I didn't read it.

But returning anything to "normal" isn't possible with your raging TDS.  Democrats continuing to stay on defcon 1 every day for every tweet won't ever mean returning to anything resembling normal

Well everybody wants gay marriage rights that is just recognizing and agreement between two people the government should do that for everybody or nobody but really it is not the governments business to say who can get married at all.
