Trump did a great thing when he capped State tax writeoffs at $10K.  A better thing would be if he had eliminated State tax write-offs entirely.

Housing prices in the high end markets are falling.  In NY they took a double hit because of new taxes NY levied.

This is great.  Why should real estate be inflated by taxes?  They shouldn't.  This brings markets in line across states and comparatively to cheaper housing.

Tax write-offs just skew markets.  Libertarians know that's a fools folly.

For the same reason, the mortgage deduction should also be eliminated ... entirely.  Think of how more affordable housing would become.

Now only the rich can buy mansions because they are the only ones who's taxes are high enough to benefit from the writeoffs.  What a great thing it would be to have high end housing prices drop dramatically.  People who saved all their lives could afford them
